    Bait and Switch !!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsEmployee population is very friendly, good health and wellness benefits, free coffee and snacks (apples, bananas, granola etc.)

ConsBureaucracy and Project mismanagement the likes of which I have never seen in my 18 year career!

Advice to Senior ManagementInnovation (one of Kronos core corporate Inflection points) is extinguished at onset due to a focus on only meeting the immediate task at hand, of which, there is a never ending list. Even if you have the greatest idea and solution to making these tasks turn into automated events, no one wants to listen, just keep digging the ditch by hand, even if you own a backhoe which could do the job 100x's faster!

    Loyalty Ha!

Software Quality Assurance Engineer Senior (Former Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsThere are some pretty friendly co-workers who I got to know well.

Decent renovation of the new building.

ConsPerformance reviews mean nothing. It is given on a whim and how your manager feels about you those months leading to it.

People are "encouraged" to give good ratings on the company surveys. That tells you how trustworthy the results actually are.

Regardless of your performance, when it's time for you to go, in comes the moving boxes and out you go.

Advice to Senior ManagementShort sighted middle management. Can not see long term consequences only short term gains.

Christmas present = Get laid off!!!!

Software Engineer (Former Employee) Chelmsford, MA

    ProsSome free snacks are provided

ConsI was part of a new hire rotation program that placed us in different groups every 6 months. At the end of 18 months, we were suppose to be able to choose which group we would end up at. Guess what several of us got at the end of the rotation. You guessed it Pink slips!!!!!! From what I heard, the remaining people on the program will be forcefully placed on to teams they never even heard of.

One observation that I noticed a couple of months in is the talent at the middle management level. It is severely lacking compared to other companies in this industry. It seems from previous reviews that I'm not the only one who made this observation.

I would never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not blatantly lie to your employees and then act as if nothing ever happened.

    Get out of here

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chelmsford, MA

    ProsNot much to say here.

ConsThe incompetence of management is astounding. No wonder why so many people left. Management do not listen to advice especially those directly under them. When things go wrong, no responsibility is taken and blame those who advise against such action in the first place. The hypocrisy is astounding.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees and don't be so hot headed!! Replace middle management.

    I probably made a mistake

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsProvides a clean workplace. There is also free snacks, tea and coffee

ConsThe work was mediocre at best. I was part of this program that kept moving me from group to group so I can get "experience". The pay is extremely poor compared to a similar role in this industry. Several people I've talked to in the company share the same view. Some have already left and others are visiting monster.com more often.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your employees especially the ones you've just hired. This will make them stay longer and make them think you actually care a bit.

    Don't work here

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsGood commute for people in the area, but that's all.

ConsI had a truly horrible experience here. Highly political, no culture, bad management, frequent layoffs(usually in Dec, right before the holidays). Run by an investing company. You will be a number, the CEO will put on a front like he actually cares about employees, but just waiting to cash out.
They are moving all development overseas, so if you are a developer, don't work here.
This place has gotten real bad...stay away

Kronos is run by investors who just want to squeeze a turnip

    Engineer (Former Employee) Beaverton, OR

ProsYou will be able to step up to new duties and get them on your resume as people with the credentials to do those jobs flee like rats from a sinking ship

Consjudging from the droves of people who have once worked for them, and how they all collectively feel, you will suffer from years worth of therapy inducing ptsd, proportionate to the time you spent working for them and the level of responsibility you held.

Advice to Senior Managementnone, its too late.

    Working at Kronos was Hell

Senior Software Developer (Current Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsYou can learn everything Machiavelli knew, and then some, by working in this incredibly politicized, hostile, unpleasant environment. The best thing about this job was the severance pay after the layoffs.

ConsOld technology, old management style, and Old Boys' Network. This place is a resume stain. The only thing they DO do is Scrum/Agile, but they manage to turn it into drudgery. Six-to-eight-hour planning meetings -- one day out of a 10-day iteration, and three-hour retrospectives at the end of the iteration. There was nothing good to be found here. Your career will stagnate. Do not trust ANYONE. Women and minorities are tokens at best; the few women in upper management are powerless tools.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the trickle-down of blame onto the heads of those you manage. Learn what the real value of openness is (hint: NOT so you can get blackmail material).

    Recruiting is a mess!

    Recruiter (Former Employee) Chelmsford, MA

ProsPeople are nice individually. Constant change in direction means there will always be a recruiting team.

ConsThe recruiting team is a terrible mess. Constant turnover, high workloads and no management support. Do a quick Linked In search in the Boston area and you will see a lot of ex-recruiters from Kronos. Very few make it more than a year. No growth because there is no stability. The team has been rescructured multiple times. Even the managers and directors have turned over in recent years.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf the people who work to bring the best people to your company don't stay what does that say about your company?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
