Can be great or miserable, depending on your location, manager and vertical

    Pros

Kronos is a household name (in our industry) and has a great product, reputation, and client list. We are the dominant player in Time and Attendance, though competition is starting to catch up and put us in much more competitive situations. Verticalization is a strong unique value, as others don't do this. The upside to make money is definitely there.

    Cons

Your success or failure is determined by (in stack rank order): territory/vertical, manager, timing and your talent. You can be completely mediocre, but work in a great territory and with great people, and be highly successful. Conversely, you can be a rock star and have a poor territory with major lack of leadership and you will be left floundering and having a career low point. Many succeed, despite lack of any credible talent. Others fail, regardless of having excellent talent. Kronos has a fantastic core product suite, but unless you are able to rely on knowledgeable and experienced people there to help you as you ramp, Kronos' weak and irrelevant training will not help you. Recently there have been several people brought in from the outside with no relevant knowledge or experience to what you do, which can only hinder your success. That said, if you are able to surround yourself with people who have a lot of relevant experience and are willing to help you on a consistent basis, your chances for success are increased exponentially.

Before you start a new job here, make sure to qualify the relative experience of your direct management and ask to speak with your potential colleagues... see how much they know, how long they've been there, and try to gauge their happiness. Also ask about turnover - the great areas have little, while other areas have turnover way beyond reasonable measure.

    Advice to Management

    - Stop always blaming the frontline employees for failure. When failure is constant and consistent over years despite the frontline players, perhaps the onus lays with management and/or other factors???
    - Hire people with relevant knowledge and experience. Reevaluate management and strategy. While Kronos has rapid growth and earnings, there is tremendous opportunity cost that is not being realized due to lack of execution from quality leadership.
    - Understand that while you are the best in "Time and Attendance," your HR is "good enough" and your payroll is weak. Expectations of what's attainable has to be realized within those realistic parameters - Kronos is not #1 at everything.
    - You need more resources. This is a huge bottleneck and one that is not being addressed.

    Pros

Great leadership, amazing training, nice vacation.

    Cons

Utilization goals are sometimes unattainable. Too many variables in making your utilization for your bonus. Sometimes hard to get good projects when on a team with veterans at the company. Pay isnt that great. Moving up in the company takes a while.

    Advice to Management

Make utilization more achievable, increase pay.

    Pros

    Market leader
    Good work / life balance

    Cons

    Minimal communication between teams.
Even though Kronos has global offices, much of what goes on centers around headquarters.

    Pros

Upper management is phenomenal. The philosophy and the work ethic at Kronos is second to none. Product innovation is a constant and growth is very consistent. Flexibility of schedule is a big plus.

    Cons

Turnover is several organizations makes accomplishing goals difficult. Outdated and slow reporting systems. Salary increases almost non-existent despite strong company performance. Loyalty is not rewarded. Seasoned empleyees are seen as a detriment and new inexperienced (lower paid) talent is always being added.

    Advice to Management

Review the salary policies and bonus structure. It's time to get competitive with similar high tech companies. Good talent is being lost. Pay is not commensurate with expectations.

    Pros

Inspirational C-level leadership moving all the right levers in all the right directions. Lots of excited areas to become involved in, especially in the Cloud space, led by new senior level staff.

    Cons

Very inadequate back-office investments to keep up with the innovations and changes.

    Pros

The company is a leader in the field and used by many high profile clients. Co-workers are great people that collaborate together to deliver great implementations.

    Cons

Management in the Indy office is terrible. Management makes brash decisions and changes on a whim and has limited product knowledge. Sales sells features that the software is incapable of performing and projects often sink because of failed customer expectations. Consultants with limited product knowledge are often thrown into projects without proper product training and in turn the customer receives a poor product. Consultants are overloaded with multiple projects and unreasonable expectations. Limited benefits compared to other technology companies.

    Advice to Management

Get to know the product and the challenges of implementations. If you are going to treat consultants as just numbers, don't be surprised when they seek other employment, with better benefits and higher wages. Provide consultants with more job growth. There is no incentive or career opportunities to work towards in professional services. Formulate a better bonus plan that is attainable and gives consultants incentive to perform and deliver a better product implementation.

  10. Good for short term

I have been working at Kronos Incorporated

    Pros

    Good compensation
    Good HR
Good for Individual Contributors who obey managers

    Cons

Too much politics at senior level as there are very few opportunities to grow
Agressive deliveries happening on the cost of quality

    Advice to Management

Have trust in your employees, they come to work.
Managres should be trained in SCRUM as they expect teams to follow it.
Only increased salaries can not make people to stay for long, job satisfaction is must.

    Pros

The compensation, benefits and time-off policies were first class, perhaps the best I've seen in my career. Some of the teams at the Engineering headquarters were great people to work with.

    Cons

Daily engineering tasks were mind numbingly mundane and unchallenging. There was zero budget allocated for training and personal growth. Employee engagement was nonexistent and managers were not held responsible for their teams' engagement. The technology used was archaic unless you are comfortable being 10 to 20 years behind.
