I have been working at L-3 Communications for less than a year
Pros – I met some great people working there. The employees had very welcoming personalities.
Cons – Management would often over scope projects and use out of date techniques/software to get jobs done. Some employees regularly worked 60-90 hour work weeks to meet deadlines. No real quality control of art assets. Many people were laid off after projects were finished because lack of time management.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire some art leads to help set a standard for quality. Use game engines that are up to date and give artist control over lighting/shading for assets instead of programmers.

I worked at L-3 Communications
Pros – I worked for L-3 overseas and was very pleased but I was continually disappointed by the group leading Omaha. Compensation was good.
Cons – L-3 is huge and very disconnected. I wanted to stay with the company but requested a transfer. My supervisor told me there were no openings. That same week I had offers from several L-3 recruiters.
Advice to Senior Management – There needs to be a stronger connection between the mid-level management and the field.

I worked at L-3 Communications
Pros – Nice colleagues, middle management understanding of different work situations, salary was ok. Having ten paid holidays and free coffee was pretty nice.
Cons – Upper management seemed out of touch. No one ever rated as "excellent". Company touted how well it was doing in employee letters, yet "no bonus" policy and raises were less than cost of living increases. Archaic internal software tools that were frustrating and time-wasters. Did not support training for professional advancement. Way behind in benefits and workplace flexibility.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees as a valuable resource, not as an after thought.
