    Worst management experience.

    Manager (Former Employee)

ProsOnly pros is discount and customer relations.

ConsNo clear expectations, next to no training for managers, if you are not in the "click" you are forced out regardless of how well you perform your job and increase overall sales and customers satisfaction. Zero talent development on any level...would never recommend this company for any inspiring managers looking to enhance their careers

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your management team. Stop putting on a fake facade when faced with associates, they see right through you and loose respect quickly....

    Nightmarish at best

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsDiscount is 40%. But after a while, even that loses it's 'pro-ness'.

ConsTerribly run corporate environment. No systems in place to run company smoothly. Things are dumped haphazardly to the minions who have to do 3-4 jobs at a time. Appreciation is non-existent and managers should be signed up for courses on how to motivate and run a team. Forget about asking to 'build a career' there.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn how to manage and not yell at your team. Perhaps then people will not fear, but respect you.

    Get Sick = Get Fired

Merch Processor, DC1 (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsSome decent people there, but obviously not in positions of authority

ConsTreats their new people as less than animals. If you miss ONE day in the first week, regardless of if it is beyond your control, you're fired. Doesn't matter if you do a great job, are driven to do your best, follow directions well and everything is looking good as said by the immediate supervisor. I had to miss one day because of blurry/disrupted field of vision in my left eye due to a migraine. Obviously, someone that can't see a forklift in their peripheral should stay home that day (safety!), but management says poor attendance.

Building has revolving doors, for more than one reason...

Advice to Senior ManagementYou obviously need counseling as you cannot differentiate a critical safety issue from attendance.

    Don't trust manager or executives

Loss Prevention (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsGreat Benefits, people other than managers.

ConsExecutive management has no idea what the departments they supervise do or care to know. Management does listen to associate opinion surveys or they rig them to look better.

Advice to Senior ManagementLive the values you preach.

    the worst career experience ever.

Marketing Executive (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

Prosgreat pay, great bonus structure, good on your resume, but it will be pure combat.

Conshorrible culture all around. they say one thing and do another. they expect you to work 60-80hrs a week. You get pressure from one sr. leader, then told do another by some other sr. leader. don't ask for clarification or go to HR- they will mob you, pressure you and not support you. I have seen MANY talented people leave due to the pressure, stress. My advice - do not be a hero- do not go expecting to make a big difference, just tow the line, get by, do nothing extraordinary. You'll be fine.

    Outsourcing at a furious pace

Business Systems Analyst (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsThe pay is decent and corporate-sized. Nice benefits, health, dental, life, 401k match. Leadership rarely knows what's really going on, very few handles on your work.

ConsIn Limited Technology Services they are rapidly outsourcing most of their technology functions. The first wave is occurring now and subsequent waves are certain to follow. They are outsourcing using IBM Services, most jobs are going to India. If you want a good paycheck for a short time, you might consider working here. Otherwise, stay away. This isn't a place for someone who wants a career. Their retention rates are solely due to the good pay. The environment is combative and nepotistic.

Advice to Senior ManagementNow that Insight is over and you've pushed all the LTS leadership out and landed yourselves jobs, maybe consider not forcing the rest of us out with more outsourcing. LTS did most of the Insight heavy lifting. Even those of us who you haven't told are being outsourced are looking for new jobs.

Compensation is high and the environment/morale is low. The limited has no soul.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsMoney. They over pay the marketplace to get people.

ConsThe Limited can be a mean and evil place. It is churn and burn. A lot of very talented people we put through the wringer there.

Advice to Senior ManagementCare as much about the people once you get them there as you did in wooing them. Care about fairness and learn to have principals.

Terrible hours, and senior management on a power trip.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsEmployee discount of 15% on clothing, which is nice if it's your style.

Also, for people majoring in fashion or sales related fields, Limited Brands does represent a multitude of top consumer brands (i.e. Victoria's Secret, Express, Limited Too, Pottery Barn, and The Limited.) There is, from what I understand, more room for advancement at the corporate level, but where I was, in a retail store, the hierarchy was very rigid and employees very rarely got promoted from the position they were hired to fill. The senior management, with the exception of one, was generally fair in allowing for time off due to school or personal issues, which was another plus.

ConsThe store I worked was run by extremely incompetent senior management who lacked even basic respect toward the floor employees. We were treated, more or less, as slave labor, and were expected to stay at the store until 4 AM some nights, when we were told we would be getting off at 11 PM. There was a very high turnover amongst staff. In the fairly short time I worked at the retail store, approximately 1/4 of the staff quit (and were replaced) due to the unreasonable evening hours, and a particular manager who was on a power trip when it came to every nuance of the store's daily functions.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would like them to respect their employees, and understand we had lives outside of work; I was a full-time student while working at Express.

No 401K for the first year.

Knit Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsSalary is good. You can buy gift cards with the 40% off employee discount.

ConsWork-life balance is a major issue. Corporate culture at isolated offices is non-existent. 401K is not available for the first year you work there. No clear path for job advancement within company. High turnover.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a clear path for career advancement.

    Stay away.

    Director (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsCompany moves very quickly when it chooses to.

ConsNo work-life balance, no communication, completely lack of decision-making, strategy and transparency.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart benchmarking organzations that are driven by replenishment - not small brands that are all aspiration and no volume.
