Basic US corporate experience - nothing else

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat benefits, I met some very nice & talented people, the work was interesting & challenging

ConsYou need to brown-nose in order to advance, you need to drink the kook-aid in order to advance, so many people in upper management positions have worked here and NOWHERE else, so there is no other experience to draw from. There is no individuality. HR is useless.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would give advice, but nobody listens.

ConsNo benefits as part time associate, horrible, inconsistent hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore competitive pay for seasoned employees. More internal growth vs outside hires.

Worked in the distribution and processing center.

Processing and Distribution Worker (Former Employee) Reynoldsburg, OH

ProsSteady pay and fairly consistent hours.

ConsLittle overtime opportunities and supervisors play favorites.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo much downtime and inefficiencies during basic processing tasks.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Strong establishment with room for growth.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe company has solid interdepartmental structure and hires people to grow with the company. I was here when they were seeking to branch off one of their departments on its own, so there was a lot of restructuring, growth, and development. There was also a pretty healthy workplace culture considering its position in the retail and fashion industry.

ConsLimited feedback loops, due to large size. Sometimes there are gaps in communication in what needs to be done from the higher ups, but this may be due to lack of people there to help others onboard with technical and logistical resources. When a member lags, it causes bottlenecking of other processes (but this is a problem many larger establishments face).

It Can Be a Good Place to Work

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMost of the people I work with are very professional and helpful. Some departments provide flexible work arrangements.

ConsIn my department there isn't much of a chance for advancement.

    Manager (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsContinued learning opportunities based on the continuous changes. Corporate headquarters, marketing and distribution within same campuses and proximity.

ConsOne has to be very flexible and adaptable and at times consider business before family.

Advice to Senior ManagementWalk the talk

An extremely competitive and fast-paced organization, but it is difficult to make a career here.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Columbus, OH

ProsWorld class specialty retailer with great brands, good compensation, charity work that makes you feel good to work here, a winning culture/focus on results

ConsNo career path for non-core functions, frequent lay-offs that are executed regardless of performance, execution usually begins long before objectives/strategy are set

Advice to Senior ManagementWork to develop better career paths for employees to encourage retention - Limited Brands attracts and develops best-in-class talent, which then leaves for other organizations because of a lack of opportunity internally.

Maintain your focus on results and accountability for delivering those results. That aspect of Limited Brands culture is relentless, rare, and I think the biggest factor in the amazing growth this company has enjoyed.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
