    Surprising for a global company...

    Manager (Current Employee)

ProsBenefits are great, people are hardworkers and have been around a long time. There is now more focus on treating people right and recognizing their contribution to the success of the company.

ConsDisorganized in the systems and training or lack thereof. Targets and goals calculations are designed to make whoever has to achieve it fail.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake those calculations and contracts with airlines make more sense.

Stable Position - Lot of Stress

Operations Manager (Current Employee) Portland, OR

ProsPay is good, health insurance is good, hourly employees are good. Union is week. GM is great!

ConsCompany is not structured well for as many years as they have been in business. I.T. department SUCKS!!!!!!! Technology is dated, running Windows XP and other systems are bad. Upper management outside of PDX is really pretty bad treating people bad.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you are happy where you work don't come here for a few dollars more.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

It is a good place to work.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsYou will work less hours than in most other production facilities. Generally, you have a set schedule. There is a good mix of nationalities and cultures, so diversity is accepted.

ConsThere has not been a pay increase in over 10 years. The union has established an environment of 'management vs. employees', that is difficult to manage around.

Advice to Senior ManagementPrices in the world are rising at a rate that is faster than compensation. To live with any sense of comfort, we as employees need to be compensated better.

Good Potential but Excellent International Business Opportunities

    Analyst (Former Employee)

ProsOverall, it was an interesting place to work. I did learn a lot specifically about international business. I definitely think that there is potential growth but the airline industry is anything but stable.

ConsAirline industry can be topsy-turvy and I think that made people somewhat sad. Management should take better care in ensuring that employees are happy and productive.

Being owned by a parent German company can be tough at time. Sometimes the right answer would not be accepted because it was not the German opinion of what the solution should be.

Turnover was extremely high when I was there due to people exiting as the economy improved.

Advice to Senior ManagementDiversify outside of airline catering. They have the capacity to expand into new catering markets.

    ProsGood pay scale
    lots of opportunities for growth
    world wide locations

ConsDomestically (within the US) not the greatest treatment of hourly employees, especially in
    regard to payscale vs expectations
    Lots of hours
at times unrealistic company expectations / mandated goals

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more senior management from within the aviation / travel industry
