I have been working at LSG Sky Chefs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

No promotions and basically no salary adjustments. Good people trying their best to make things work. Unfortunatelly people in this case can fix what the culture of the company imposes.

    Cons

No communication exist between corporate and the units across the USA, other than to review budget. Disconection between sales and the units capacity is a mahor contributor to the debacle they are experiencing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on a plan. review capacities at the sites and work on culture. it is post 9/11 and things have changed.

I worked at LSG Sky Chefs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay if you are at or above Supervisor level. Excellent benefits package and a nice yearly bonus if your department does well. People are great....you see them so much they are like your second family. Free lunch everyday. I would come in early and have a free breakfast as well. Great exposure to other cultures.

    Cons

Not so good work life balance. You are paid a decent salary but you are at work 60 hours a week including weekends and holidays. Employees below you are paid an awful hourly wage and expected to perform miracles. You cannot help them because it against union rules. Upper management views only numbers, and wants you to do the same. The operation is always going wrong and you are being blamed for it. When you try to make changes, no one listens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your front of line workers. They have been with company for 20+ years and have seen it all. Also, they need to be paid a decent wage.

    Pros

    Good colleagues
Opportunity for travel if you want it
    Generally good facilities

    Cons

    Politics can be difficult
    Policies often rigid

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lots of turnover in senior ranks makes a consistent direction difficult to maintain. Need to listen more to regions outside of EMEA. Need to diversify outside of flag carrier airlines and flight services in general.

I have been working at LSG Sky Chefs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great, people are hardworkers and have been around a long time. There is now more focus on treating people right and recognizing their contribution to the success of the company.

    Cons

Disorganized in the systems and training or lack thereof. Targets and goals calculations are designed to make whoever has to achieve it fail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make those calculations and contracts with airlines make more sense.
