I have been working at Lafarge as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great culture- everyone is very personable. Safety is top priority. Great opportunities to grow within the company. The company takes good care of its employees.

    Cons

Wages are salaried which can be frustrating when working more than 40 hours every week. It is just something to take into consideration when offered a job there.

I have been working at Lafarge full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company cares for your wellbeing and your development. It focuses you on enablers of success rather than the pressure to achieving target. Lafarge is worth investing your career for the long term in as the business of Lafarge is equally long term

    Cons

Decision making may appear slow at times and the influence of French labour laws has a lot of impact in Lafarge cculture...so you may have different experiences depending on where you work in the globe

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to learning local issues with emerging markets

I have been working at Lafarge full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

World leadership in building materials gives an unmatched edge over others, through resources, modus operandi and recognition.

    Cons

Management could be bureaucratic and myopic at times, ignoring the world is not the operating areas and to most of the fellows, the brand could be nothing but another business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Comparison with other organisations beyond the industry will help overcome the stagnancy, status quo and premeditated mind set of doing things.
