    Pros

Friendly people and great work/life balance. You have to be pretty horrible at your job to get let go.

    Cons

Zero incentives for corporate employees. Low salary. Slow paced. Little room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Replace some management with new innovative minds who think OUTSIDE the box. Stop trying to do programs in house, they have all been unsuccessful, purchase from a well-known company.

    Pros

Flexible Schedule, ability to make extra commission

    Cons

Use of personal vehicle, no fuel reimbursement, out of pocket expenses with no help from upper management, upper management lack of knowledge and know how.

    Advice to Management

Hire more skilled DSM and RSM. Allow for company vehicle to reps and fuel expense. You cannot expect the reps to take 100 percent of the risk.

    Pros

Good culture from the founders Used to be family owned Friendly working environment Great co-worker to work with Employees used to work their whole life with the company

    Cons

Changes of management and ownership Change of culture

    Advice to Management

Make strategic decisions with more due diligence rather than making important changes and business acquisition quickly. Especially those that will substantially impact your employees and their families.

    Pros

    - Superior Products to be sold, which cost more than the competition, but the cost/benefit is justified. - Good work/life balance. Company is supportive of family life and works with you in terms of keeping both aspects of your life positive.

    Cons

    - Misguided leadership past, present, and based on the current path, in the future. - They tried to do too much too fast: the company needed an overhaul in software, personnel, customer pricing, brand new website, etc - necessary changes, poorly executed. - 4 rounds of layoffs in 2 1/2 years, with no 'big picture' plan being obvious. They cut then hire, cut then hire. People who are holding their departments together lose their jobs, then they try to figure out what those people did after they are gone and give their work to new hires.

    Advice to Management

Place more value on the employees you have, and keep them happy.

    Pros

The company operates like a small business.

    Cons

Poor execution in every aspect of the business. Poor implementation of SAP.

    Advice to Management

The IT department has its work cut out for them in this organization.

    Pros

The salaries and raises were fairly steady and fair if you went above and beyond.

    Cons

High turnover in upper management and inconsistent direction. I am happy to be out of the toxic environment that permeated in the last 5 or so years. Consistent poor communication to worker bees. Glad I have left the company.

    Advice to Management

Give employees more opportunities to make contributions to better the company and become more involved in improving.

No cold calling. Small office with good hard working people.

    Cons

In transition- switched to SAP and lost a lot of customers during the switch Not enough communication between Inside and Outside Sales Poor communication between corporate office and sales force. Archaic and outdated website

    Advice to Management

Aim before you fire. Greater due diliigence before making big decisions.

    Pros

They are starting to dig themselves out of the hole that the Government debacle from years ago put them in.

    Cons

They have too many issues at once going on; SAP install, supply chain issues, independent agents to employee changes, corporate do it my way gig...

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind the people make the business happen. Treat the tenured folks with care and bring them through the changes, don't get ride of them due to the changes.
