A long way to go to get back on track.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Pros- Superior Products to be sold, which cost more than the competition, but the cost/benefit is justified.
    - Good work/life balance. Company is supportive of family life and works with you in terms of keeping both aspects of your life positive.

Cons- Misguided leadership past, present, and based on the current path, in the future.
    - They tried to do too much too fast: the company needed an overhaul in software, personnel, customer pricing, brand new website, etc - necessary changes, poorly executed.
    - 4 rounds of layoffs in 2 1/2 years, with no 'big picture' plan being obvious. They cut then hire, cut then hire. People who are holding their departments together lose their jobs, then they try to figure out what those people did after they are gone and give their work to new hires.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlace more value on the employees you have, and keep them happy.

I would not feel too confident about going to work here.

    Marketing (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThe salaries and raises were fairly steady and fair if you went above and beyond.

ConsHigh turnover in upper management and inconsistent direction. I am happy to be out of the toxic environment that permeated in the last 5 or so years. Consistent poor communication to worker bees. Glad I have left the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive employees more opportunities to make contributions to better the company and become more involved in improving.

Poor communication between corporate office and sales force.
    Archaic and outdated website

Lawson is becoming much more corporate, get on the train or get left behind

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Des Plaines, IL

ProsThey are starting to dig themselves out of the hole that the Government debacle from years ago put them in.

ConsThey have too many issues at once going on; SAP install, supply chain issues, independent agents to employee changes, corporate do it my way gig...

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep in mind the people make the business happen. Treat the tenured folks with care and bring them through the changes, don't get ride of them due to the changes.

    What would Sid Port think?

    Agent (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsWe get payed twice a month.

ConsUsed to have premium product at a fair price. Now it's mediocre products at an outrageous price.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the panic and shooting from the hip. Lets go back to what worked, specialists, not the con artists that can sell any thing to anybody.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
