I worked at Learning Resources as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Great program. They really give a lot to the interns, including projects to work out, outings into the city, free lunch & learns once a week. The people are very friendly.
Cons – The commute to Vernon Hills, whether from another Chicago suburb or from the city, can be a bit annoying. Also the office is the typical cubicle setup, so not super exciting.

I have been working at Learning Resources
Pros – The employees overall are a very motivated and caring group of people with the best interest of the end users (children!) in mind. Good work-life balance.
Cons – Currently many changes taking place with the recent letting go of the CEO. There is much speculation on the impact to individual jobs or departments.
Advice to Senior Management – Be sure to keep open communication so that employees don't have to operate in fear.
