    Pros

Great place to work. Legacy takes care of their employees and is strong in home/work balance.

    Cons

If you work at the System Office, you now have to pay for parking. They also changed their timekeeping program; all non-exempt employees have to clock in and out for their lunch period.

    Pros

Great team environment. Sense of autonomy. Supportive administration that encourage improvement and has a "just culture". Flexible schedule so you can work around family arrangements. NO UNION CONTRACT.

    Cons

There is really no downside to working for Legacy health that is abnormal to the normal situation of working in the healthcare field. You work nights and weekends. Miss some social stuff on occasion but have more time in general for family stuff.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep a good balance between patient satisfaction, patient safety, and staff satisfaction. Listen to your front line staff...they are the boots on the ground. Don't be afraid to get rid of staff that are do not embrace the culture or under perform.

    Pros

Get to use a lot of CNA skills. Education days are a bonus. Great people to work with.

    Cons

Some not so great people to work with.

    Advice to Management

Other hospitals pay more for their CNA2 and Legacy should consider increasing the pay of their CNA2s.

    Pros

Values in action Excellent pay Excellent paid time off Opportunities for professional development Encourage employee participation in decision making

    Cons

Management and front-line staff not held accountable for poor or mediocre performance. All employees will have to hear about it if something is done wrong, rather than the specific employee who is to blame. Sometimes the culture of being nice impedes accountability.

    Advice to Management

Address issues and concerns with the individual at fault, not to everyone in a general way. When employees complete annual surveys and consistently identify a manager as being an issue - remove that manager or provide them with assistance to become a better maanger.

Generally well intentioned people but like anywhere else, this depends on who you report to.

    Pros

I've worked with some great people who assumed good intentions and were committed to delivering exceptional care. There are are many long-term employees who like working for Legacy. Since it is just big enough (although not a Providence Health), there are opportunities to expand your career once you get to know people. I would recommend working here.

    Cons

Like anywhere else you work, your job satisfaction will depend on how supportive your leader is. It can be big enough where there is breakdown in communication and coordination of resources. Also, the hospitals all have different organizational cultures. Pay can often be less than local healthcare competitors for non-clinical jobs. Medical/dental benefits cannot compare to Kaiser.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep trying to do too much with stretched resources. Do keep listening to employee feedback.

    Pros

Coworkers are so supportive, helpful and friendly. Patient and employee safety is top priority.

    Cons

The unit is understaffed and more often than not float staff who are uncomfortable and not familiar with the unit are working. Pay is on the lower side for the area.

    Pros

This hospital is successful, has many opportunities for staff. A leader in the community.

    Cons

Lots of new nurses. Lots of new processes, constant change. Re-inventing the wheel. Old white guys running the place, very political. Tell us what we want to hear, nothing changes. Understaffed and told to deal with it. Same ol' story of every hospital! The community is growing and the hospital also needs to expand, desperately .

    Advice to Management

Need better education process for new nurses and continuing edu for nurses.
