I worked at LendingTree full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love the culture there! as many stated before me, they have a work hard play hard culture that I really enjoyed. I was employed when the economy wasn't that great and a lot of long time employee's were at their breaking points and complained a lot.

As a new hire, I enjoyed what they tried to do and even though a lot things were cut out and put on hold, the perks that were still in effect made the place enjoyable. I can only imagine how much enjoyment I wouldve gotten from Lendingtree in a good economy!

Also there were lots of opportunities to gain experience in areas beyond your position if you put in the effort.

    Cons

Pay was a little low and there was a pay increase freeze when I was there. Also people were getting laid off almost daily (more due to the economy than the company) which made things scary every day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I had no problems with management...Hire me again I guess I would say

I have been working at LendingTree

    Pros

CEO always has an open door and I firmly believe that taking the initiative is rewarded in terms of increased levels of responsibility. This allows someone to grow quite quickly and there is plenty of opportunity to lead a wide array of initiatives.

    Cons

Flat organization offers little room for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consistent reward structure that is measured quarterly and reported on at an individual level would further improve employee drive towards corporate goals. This should be measured in terms of a well known yearly plan. All those that execute against a plan are not necessarily those who create it, therefore the incentives of those solely executing need to mostly be tied to executing the plan regardless of the plans overall success.

    I worked at LendingTree

    Pros

The camaraderie among co-workers was among the best i've experienced in a workplace environment. Lending Tree the time, rewarded top performers with incentives. Opportunities were also available to take on additional responsibility to prove your leader ship ability.

    Cons

A call center environment can be very constricting if you require flexibility in your workday. IE lunches and breaks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall I found management to be supportive and easy to access. The one bad apple I did experience was dealt with swiftly by his manager. Continue to treat your employees with dignity and respect and you will always be successful

Good place to work other than the fact we are going through a mortgage meltdown...

I have been working at LendingTree

    Pros

The best reasons to work for Lendingtree are: Good Benefits, Some Good People, Great Work Life balance (depends on your manager though, everyone has a different style of managment), and some knowledgable people that work there

    Cons

Well, the downsides to working at LendingTree is the market. The maket kills any idea of working for a mortgage company because its still on a major decline. I can't really think of any real bad downsides, other than I had one manager that was incompetent. Other than that, its a good place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

From my experience, senior management did well communicating down to its employees.
