    Great place to start

Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee) Exeter, NH

ProsIf your manager is right, personal growth can be phenomenal. Its best to shop around for the right manager and disregard things like commute, pay, job fit. Honesty having the right manager makes all the difference.

ConsLeadership almost always comes from the ground up. Its best to disregard certain individuals despite title and stick to your best judgement. If direct answers are not received, then fill in your best answer and set a time frame. Careers here are not for the faint of heart, but this is something you'll learn as you go. Avoid consultants at all costs.

Ideal Environment to start a career

    Accountant (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsAn abundance of great opportunities at the bottom, supportive and responsive supervisors and managers. Straight forward and open compensation strategy.

ConsI have not experienced any to date. There are of course the normal elements of any large organization but nothing that sticks out or has been a significant hurdle.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet's be the first major corporation to design a compensation package at the executive level that ends the companies financial liability to executives when they leave. The image of a few getting million dollar annual exit packages while pensions for the rank and file are constantly cutback should is a problem worthy of a solution

Great place for a long career

Senior Analyst (Former Employee) Boston, MA

ProsA lot of opportunity to work with great people, high level of intelligence, and top of the line technology and softwares. The bar is set very high and you are expected to keep up with the pace. There are a lot of resources if you want to learn more or expand your skill set. You are also encouraged to gain exposure to different business units and work in different groups.

ConsThe benefits are so-so: health insurance is a bit on the expensive side. Maternity policy is bad. Also, 37.5 hr work week seems great, but non-existent with the work load. Also, there is the "glass ceiling" if you don't move around ever year or two. Co is still somewhat stuck with the "Old Boys Club" mentality. Men definitely have the advantage, and if you don't take time out to do the "drink after work" now and then with your group, you lose credibility with your peers. Also, if you don't put in the extra effort to get "noticed", you will loose out on opportunities for promotion.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake more notice and reward high performing employees with promotions and money so they don't leave.

    Solid company with many opportunities

Project Leader (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsLarge company with many opportunities. Overall organization seems to move deliberately and ties resources to major initiatives. Company has solid results year after year resulting in above average pay increases and bonuses.

ConsSome "leaders" manage in fear of failure resulting in poor planning/execution and ultimately driving poor work life balance.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the risk of petiole making mistakes to give them the chance to succeed.

Overall, pleasant experience working for the company

Finance Manager (Former Employee) Boston, MA

ProsThe company has a friendly and collaborative work environment. Employees help each other to achieve goals. Good advancement opportunities at lower levels.

ConsLack of diversity at senior management level. Many senior managers have been working at the company for a long time, true leadership skills are at times absent, decision making and change execution are slow.

Advice to Senior ManagementIn today's global market, it is important to have diversified workforce at all levels. There is a distinct need d to diversify the senior management team at LMI to develop strong leadership talent.

A great place to establish yourself and build your career

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsGreat company to work for with a chance for advancement. Good benefits, bonuses, and pay for performance. Company is profitable and led by a smart management team.

ConsThe company has a lot of bureaucracy, so it takes a long time to get things approved, which is the downside of working for a large company with over 50,000 employees. Internal apps are slow and hard to figure out how to use. Do not understand the need to radically cut expenses when the company has been so profitable.
