    An enjoyable intern experience

    Personal Market Intern (Former Employee) Dover, NH

    ProsAs a fortune 100 company, interns get to experience what it is like to work in a large and growing company. Along with many knowledgeable employees and various other resources available it provides the opportunity to learn a lot.

    ConsAs with most large companies it takes time to get adjusted to company culture and procedure. There's a lot of acronyms to get accustomed to.

    Past Intern

    IT Intern (Former Employee) Portsmouth, NH

    Pros* Training
    * Competitive Pay
    * Mentors
    * NIce company environment

    Cons* location (very limited for IT intern/ new hires)

    Advice to Senior ManagementIf you plan on having interns maybe having a plan before they come, so we're not doing just busy work halfway through the program. I learned a lot of valuable lessons, but I felt like I could've been challenged a little bit more.

    Liberty Mutual - A great place to work

    Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee) Boston, MA

    ProsExcellent benefits, great pay, nice working conditions, wonderful co-workers

    ConsBrown-nosers seem to, once again, get rewarded. Maybe its a lesson for those of us who don't want to stoop that low, that it is indeed worth stooping!

    Advice to Senior ManagementStop rewarding brown-nosers. Continue to keep up with your otherwise professional atmosphere. Thanks for respecting the once-in-a-while two-hour lunches for those of us who never take breaks and work through lunch the rest of the time. Listening to your direct-reports is always a good idea.

    Surrounded by very interesting and intelligent coworkers.

    ConsBeing a risk-adverse company, it can be hard to get some initiatives approved.

    Sales Representative (Current Employee) Elk Grove, CA

    ProsNo better place to develop an insurance career. If you have limited insurance experience, no other company does what Liberty Mutual does.

    ConsIt takes hard work the first several years. 2 solid years of working long hours and odd days.

    Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the focus on quality business.

    Great company to make a career!!!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Austin, TX

    ProsThe organization has opportunities to grow through the sales roles,training as well as management. Compensation is structured that the strong make a ton, mediocre reps do over 85k. You are an employee of Liberty, so you get that employer structure and support with the ability to make as much as your willing to work for. Liberty Matches 401k, offers great benefits and pension plan.

    ConsYou may need to be willing to relocate for some advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great work, love looking at that 401k, and pension.

    Could not ask to work for a better company.

    FLPS (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

    ProsGreat pay, nice equipment, great opportunity for advancement, bonus plan for most employees. Ability to work all around the country.

    ConsIn certain positions a great amount of travel is required as a new hire. This can place a lot of stess on both the employee and their family.

    Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
