Life Time pushes the boundaries of being a unethical business
Be prepared to work hard, long hours
If you don't work at Corporate, expect mediocre pay

I would not recommend this company for those passionate about their career

    Operations Manager (Current Employee)

ProsAn amazing concept, beautiful facilities and co-workers that can be fun to work with. Corporate employees are very supportive and quick to respond to needs. Awesome group of people at the corporate level.

ConsYou can put everything you have into it and get little back in return. Constantly spinning your wheels and trying to catch your breath. Lack of support at ground level. Little appreciation for hard work. Compensation is ok if you make your bonuses. Meeting expectations for bonus is very difficult. Requirements for the position dont match compensation level

Advice to Senior ManagementCorporate Management bring your attitudes down to the facility level. The mission and the vision are valuable but rarely is it seen within the clubs between departments and GM's. LifeTime could be a great and untouchable competitor if they did a better job of practicing what is stated in our mission and vision.

Poorly managed company I've ever worked for

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFree membership, lower tier employees have strong bond, Great location. Great discounts and benefits.

ConsManagement plays favorites, care more about bonuses than quality and employee relationship. Management comes up with a new policy every week, which seems kind of suspicious to the operation and moral of the team members. Management is too weak to let go of people who have proven to be a constant issues in the daily operation of the club, too weak to hire new people, gives hours unfairly to management favorites. Constantly forgetting to order supplies, leaving team member unprepared, and when asked for an explanation; simply told to "deal with it".

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your team members, they're people too. Respect your team members, they're people too. Don't hide In your office all the time, then when you're audited and fail, blame everyone but yourself. Don't be afraid to do some work...

Company cares a lot about their members and not enough about their employees. Give employees a free membership.

    Life Cafe Supervisor (Current Employee)
    Indianapolis, IN

    ProsFree membership.
Discount on Life Time brand products.
Networking possibilities with members and management.

    ConsLow starting pay.
    Members can be very rude.
    High employee turnover.
    Long shifts.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest time and resources into your employees. Your facility does not create the member experience, your employees and their interaction with the members make the experience.

    Great Atmosphere

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI work as a Hair Stylist in the Life Spa I love the atmosphere, I am surrounded by positive people and my co workers are always willing to help out and share tips. In the previous Salons I have been at, that was not always the case. I appreciate the fact the company offers free training on color , straightening treatments easi hair extensions and anything else they feel will keep us ahead of the curve. I have been licensed going on almost 2 years and it can be challenging building clientele but the foot traffic in the gym is a great place to start. It also helps that non members can come to the Spa to receive services and while they are there they have access to the childcare center and gym, where else can you get that type of deal? Last but not least I appreciate the fact you get paid hourly until you are consistent enough to go on commission (Nothing worse than having a slow day and not making a dime).

ConsAt the moment I cannot think of any

ConsCompensation could be higher, company always demands more/better performance from employees, work/life balance can be hard to manage at times

    Great Place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat Place to work if you understand your position and are willing to learn your position.

ConsIf you have a family or are in school the job becomes difficult.Lots of hours

Advice to Senior ManagementDont promote solely on numbers. Leaders are born fro leading the way through teamwork just as much as nubers.

7 Year Life Time Fitness Employee

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI am very lucky in the position that I am in, working with the people on my team. Great place to work, as you get a free membership. They always take you back for school breaks (if you are a college student) and have good standings with them.

ConsVery poor execution of everything. They are all about selling memberships, but not about making their employees happy. There is a revolving door of management. Never get raises.
