I have been working at Life Time Fitness part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Free membership
    Good management
    Great people to work with

    Cons

    Pay isn't the best
Might have to work more hours than you like because not enough people on staff
Dealing with "entitled" members can be a draining. Members think that just because they pay a lot of money to belong at Lifetime they can do whatever they want.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire enough staff who are at least motivated to do well at their job instead of inexperienced high schoolers that don't care.

I have been working at Life Time Fitness full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are great and the pay is good as long as you can perform above expectations which is difficult if you do not have fitness sales experience. A good relationship with coworkers and members and a free membership (if they actually give you the hour long break that you're promised in your interview!).

    Cons

When anything goes wrong, the management and corporate do not ask questions and are quick to react. They will work you to death with disregard to any life that you have outside of them(despite being promised a "work/life balance"). When the company is done receiving everything you can give they are done with you and that's that without warning or questions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take into account the lives of the individuals working 60-70 hours per week when they were told only 50 is required. I have a newborn that has quickly grown to almost a year and I have not even had the opportunity to see him grow up or be there with my wife as we were preparing for his arrival. I have missed any Drs appointments and milestones, a lot of the little things that often go unnoticed.

I have been working at Life Time Fitness as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Amazing facility and company-highly recommend working for them.

    Cons

Like any gym, when you are new the schedule is already in place so you have to do what is takes to get a spot instructing, subbing first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Must have a national group fitness cert. I had to obtain one in order to instruct there.

I have been working at Life Time Fitness

    Pros

Working in a great atmosphere with majority good people. Members are friendly if kept happy

    Cons

Because they are always concerned with budget thanks to corporate, departments are understaffed and can be cheap

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more people even if it's minimum wage. Hard to do our jobs of keeping members happy if we are understaffed to speak with them
