Best job I have ever had

Sales (Current Employee)
Minneapolis, MN

I have been working at Lifetouch full-time for more than a year

ProsThe people here have been so friendly, welcoming, creative, and hard working. Everyone I talk to seems to truly care about making this a great place to work and providing a way for families to remember this moment. I have never wanted to sit in a cubicle somewhere and do repetitive things. My job changes every day - always new people to meet, interesting problems to solve, things to discover. I have very supportive managers that are flexible if I need to take care of a sick kid. The rest of my team is so supportive of working on ideas. We are really trying to make a difference in the schools we serve and the lives of the people we meet.

ConsThe work never stops - there is always more to do so you have to self manage to maintain work/life balance and that is something I am still learning.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep letting us share our ideas and making this a safe place for innovation.

Fun and a great learning experience

Photographer (Former Employee)
Corona, CA

I worked at Lifetouch as a contractor for less than a year

ProsAll the photographer I worked with were awesome and fun! My lead photographers always took the time to go over my pictures and give me some tips and tricks. I learned a lot in my few month at Lifetouch.

ConsNone (besides some bad customers, but you can't control that)

Great summer experience

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
Pearl City, HI

I worked at Lifetouch as a contractor for less than a year

ProsI worked at the pearl city, Hi studio and my experience there was great. Every meeting we would not only discuss issues but also praise employees that received compliments on review cards and gave little rewards for every year on the team. There was a lot of team building activities so we felt like team and a family.

ConsSome employees just didn't care but they weren't really talked too. No names but this girl would just come and kind of hang out and sit around instead of working like the rest of us. But she wasn't really talked to about it because her mom was I charge of a school that was a client of ours.

Photographer (Current Employee)
San Antonio, TX

I have been working at Lifetouch part-time for less than a year

ProsFun job if you like working with kids. I really enjoyed working with my co-workers and my bosses alike. you get off pretty early in the day, and you have your summers off.

ConsVery repetitive, you do the same thing over and over all day long. Seasonal job- no income during the summer. Your average day starts very early 6:00AM.

Manager

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Lifetouch full-time for more than 10 years

ProsESOP!!! You also have an opportunity to move into management and become one of the leaders if you invest the time and effort.

ConsHigh turnover rate of excellent photographers is too high.... Even though the business is part time the company loses each time we lose an outstanding photographer!

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to find ways to show value to the front line team members who support and build the Lifetouch culture thru their performance!

Excellent Organization

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Eden Prairie, MN

I have been working at Lifetouch full-time for more than 5 years

ProsBeing Employee Owned, Lifetouch National School Studios treats its employees well and has excellent benefits and opportunity for career development. The Employee Stock Ownership Program keeps all employees motivated to insure the company does well. There are hundreds of people that work for Lifetouch for greater than 15 years due to the great environment and substantial retirement benefits.

ConsLifetouch is a large corporation, but functions in many ways as a small company. This can make the coordination of work difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company would benefit from standardization of process and the adoption of modern process on all levels.
