No career here - just a paycheck to get you through to your next job

    Pros

Lincare is a steady, but slightly under-payed, paycheck until Medicare is inevitably reformed. When that day comes, the company will likely go in to crisis mode, and I will be sure to leave long before that happens. DO NOT make this company a career. If you need something to hold you over until you find your next job, then apply. Otherwise, keep walking.

    Cons

It only takes a few months working in the corporate office to realize how shady and cheap this company is. Emails are deleted after 30 days, call centers do not record conversations with PT/customers, and I receive way too many calls about PT's medicare insurance being billed for items they never asked for for it to be just an "accidental error". For the young/uninformed, billing an insurance for medical supplies that one never asked for or received is called insurance fraud, and is definitely a felony. It's only a matter of time before this company sinks and/or becomes volatile, either through losing its medicare funding, or through the inevitable reform in medicare in the coming years.

    Advice to Management

Gain some sense of what is ethically and morally right. Then treat your employees better. I promise that you can do these things and still turn a hefty profit.

    Pros

Great people to work with ad a team.

    Cons

Never get your expense checks till almost a month after turning in expense report so you pay for your gas and travel accommodations out of pocket hoping you will get paid back soon. Over worked with little pay.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more help.

    Pros

    Decent pay, potential for overtime

    Cons

Every center I know has employees looking to leave because of the crushing amount of work. Medicare competitive bid has quadrupled the amount of patients and no new staff has been hired to compensate

    Advice to Management

Push for your district managers to allow more poitions in the center, and do not fuss at your employees for getting excessive overtime because they have to so they can keep up with the workload

    Pros

Training requires travel and is extensive. Great entry level job for medical sales.

    Cons

Too many to list them all. Do not take a position unless there are no other options. Support staff is over worked and underpaid, under trained and has a high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Work to retain good employees and weed out those who choose not to contribute.

    Pros

Potential earnings can be quite good. Benefits are excellent. Changes in CEO, COO, VP are making the company more employee-friendly.

    Cons

Management is on-call 24/7. Very little encouragement from Corporate personnel. Focus is always on what was not achieved vs. what was achieved. Not enough employees per center to complete all of the daily work required.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should be required to spend at least two weeks per year in the field or in a center so they understand the challenges faced when staffing is kept to a bare-bones minimum.
