    Pros

    work is autonomous, create your route schedules, schedule your own vehicle services as needed, helping with your work schedule.

    Cons

    bonus levels are virtually unattainable, lower management is lacking, upper management "hears" nothing at the Center level. No feedback on upward mobility when requested - no chances to accel. Very poor Customer Service when listening to area clients and doing other routes and stops.

    Not a career move

    I have been working at Lincare Holdings

    Pros

    You get to learn about insurances with regard to how they work and what services and equipment they cover. Also, you quickly learn the difference between good and bad health insurance as some cannot be accepted for our business. Also for future knowledge you learn that all these companies really want is your money so be sure you actually need the medication.

    Cons

    One major point I feel is unfair is that only the drivers get random drug test which I have yet to experience but still the fact of working with people who could be under the influence of something that could make me lose my job is just not right. You are not appreciated for your work your expected to do it no matter how above and beyone you go it just becomes an expected performance of you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Conduct better training on how each employee can sympathize with others in the office with all the hard work they do and the stress they take on a daily basis. Also, teach all employees especially drivers how to deal with the passing of a patient as it pertains to family members who we have to see to pick up our equipment.

    Cons

    Training is not sufficient. Bonus Structure is set out of range.

    Pros

    Its a tough job and all the pieces have to be in place to be successful. It can be frustrating at times but if you put in the time and make your managers happy, you can do it for a long time.

    Cons

    You are far too dependent on others to be successful. Management has no clear direction or foresight when making decisions. Plan on getting paid for 2/3 of what you sell.

    Spend some time at the center level...don't forget thats probably where you got your start.

    Pros

    Large enough company and every center operates more or less independently. Corporate leadership is varied and seems to be genuinely interested in growth.

    Cons

    Benefits are minimal and each office has a different environment from the other. Each location competes rather than cooperates with each other which filters down to the staff level. Very poor moral in some locations. Too much work with the constant micro-management from above to exceed expectations.

    Will help prepare you for any job in the market. If you can be successful here you can be successful anywhere.

    I have been working at Lincare Holdings (less than an year)

    Pros

    If you like overtime, it is offered often and sometimes made mandatory without warning. CS center has a high turnover rate!

    Cons

    Little to no room for advancement from this position, company does not provide raises after extensive training, no raises after 6 months, or even after a year. The company has a broad base for hiring, so you will work with a wide range of personalities and some are very difficult to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I believe that employees should be valued, especially when 4-6 months of training is involved. Small raises would make a big difference in the ability to retain employees, especially if you can not provide acknowledgement for a job well done. It might even help if the start up salary was $1.00 more for new hires.

    I worked at Lincare Holdings full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Lincare takes care of their employees. Due to illness early retirement was the only answer and Lincare made the transition as pleasant as possible.

    Cons

    Lincare management encourages questionable selling tactics. Reps are instructed to undermine the competition even if it means misrepresenting facts to potential clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management could offer more clarity to the reps in the field and could be more "up front" during the hiring process.

    Area Management was not very good, and seemed to be picked for interesting reasons.

    Be more selective and attentive to area management. Are these people really adding to the company?

    A great way to break into medical sales, Lincare looks great on resume, training is above average, form greAt relationships with the medical community

    Cons

    Compensation plan is below average, no bonuses or increase in pay etc ..., no upward mobility for sales focused, not much recognition for superb performance, micromanaged

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Turnover ratio with sales is extremely high... Give reps reason to stay with co... Bonus, upward growth, rewards, recognition. Update computer programs- less paper more productivity, utilize laptops like rest of industry, reevaulate pay structure every 2 years for each job function according to the area, form a held sales team in each region eliminate the responsibily held sales at centers who already have enough on their plate...
