    Pros

    Benefits & coworkers are decent.

    Cons

Instead of investing back into itself Lincare ridiculously pays Qp3 to train its sales ppl for two weeks. someone at QP3 must be good at getting on their knees and blowing someone at Lincare to sucker them into investing and building up Qp3 instead of themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of paying Qp3 out the nose to steal from your own marketing dept and train your sales ppl, let your marketing dept train your sales force and use the money wasted on Qp3 to invest back into Lincare employees.

    Pros

all the overtime you want. Lincare is so chronically understaffed that they need thier employees to work all the hours they are will to.

    Cons

OVERWORKED FOR LITTLE COMPENSATION! The pay is ridiculous. Sure overtime is avaliable but there is no work life balance so its just miserable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more transparent. Lincare does not believe in training and developing thier employees, its all about getting by with the least amount of workers. Sad

    Pros

*No shortage of job opportunities, because someone's always leaving!
*Possibility to stay with the same company if you move around the country.

    Cons

*Reputation for revolving door of employees at all center positions is well deserved. In my 2 years: 2 Center Managers, 3 CSRs, 3 HCSs, 2 Sales Reps, and 4 drivers. After 2 years of service, I have more seniority than 19of 21 people in my immediate area.
*Huge ever-growing, ever-changing expectations at all positions - especially for the CM and the Sales Reps. (The moving target/flavor of the month syndrome)
*Equations for determining number of center employees equates to a skeleton crew, at best. This is the perfect recipe for disaster.
*Continual focus on numbers disallows any focus on patient's needs OR employee satisfaction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make positive decisions to invest some short-term profit back into the company. This includes hiring more staff! Set a long-term goal of making this company one of the most secure, profitable and respected companies in the industry. It would be better to make $100,000 for 25 years than to make $150,000 for 5 years and be out of business because you have no employees left.
It really is a shame that a company consistently making $250 MILLION profit PER QUARTER, has such poor resources and compensation.

All about the bottom line while miserable employees hit rock bottom

    Current Employee - Customer Service
    Current Employee - Customer Service

    Pros

IF you get into a center that has good people you can survive this place a little longer than most.

    Cons

Not enough pay for what is expected. This company only cares about the bottom line. Many times Customers are left with no service or waiting for someone who never shows. Billing is much more important than customer service. If you are looking for a Customer Service this is not for you. To hear people suffer and not get the service they deserve is heartbreaking. Lincare is always changing and buying out other local DME company's, which means your job is never secure because there are frequent management and employee changes. People get fired left and right along with others who have nervous breakdowns because of the pressure. Training? Stinks, they dont have a training program together. Even smaller company's have class room style training, It took over 6 months to get in most of the training that the company requires. Watch for those little slips of paper they have you signing and if you get written up once, that means there is a target on your back. They use "creative" firing methods very well and above all trust no one in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a TEAM environment. This is a horrific and stressful place to work but if you can offer some relief and support people in your center will work harder for YOU. There is no recognition for anything done well and no rewards. Maybe its time to implement these. Local Newsletter? Company functions? None. What makes employees feel good about working for Lincare? Fundraising for the local community or showing that you care is nonexistent.

    Pros

free coffee and overtime work, if that is your thing.

    Cons

I felt that they did not appreciate me as a valuable employee. There are too many cons to list. I have higher education, great skills and experience. I felt that everything was drained out of me. I was ready for the mental ward before I left Lincare. I felt a lot of fear while being employed there. I don't want to go into detail here for fear of being sued for being frank and honest. I am so happy with my new company. I never realized that this is how a company is supposed to treat it's human resources. A company should treat employees well if it wants to remain profitable and competitive.

    Pros

Building relationships, filling peoples needs everyday and being a value representative for them. Great starting sales job.

    Cons

Company got bought out and they restructured their branches. Never work here management bad all the way up and has been that way in the eastside area for a very long time.

Former Employee - Center Manager in Seattle, WA

    Pros

Health insurance, Local people I worked with were dedicated and worked very hard as a team. Despite the District and Regional Managers poor skill set.

    Cons

Very poor District Managers with absolutely no knowledge of the day to day operations of individual centers. Don;t have a Sales Rep, CSR or a driver. No problem let the center manager do it all. They are salaried so no overtime to pay. If the manager doesn't hit the unrealistic monthly goals fire them an get a new one. That is the basic Lincare policy. You must hit your goals regardless of the of circumstance. Computer technology is archaic AS400 is a joke. Must have been designed by the people Microsoft fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a clue. IF 90% of a District Managers center staff are looking for a new job. (Any Job) It might not be the staff. It might be the the upper management.

Former Employee - Sales Representative in Seattle, WA

    Pros

Good sales experience, potential for fun friendly clients if you really get to know your accounts

    Cons

Everything the base is very, very low compared to other companies, the gas mileage reimbursement, management from the top to the bottom of the company, the rollover at the center level including all the sales reps and managers!, the dysfunctional management staff, overwhelmed centers due to too many patients they are not taken care of as well as they should due to over worked staff, the company just got bought out by Linde Company, the weekends on call for no extra pay, went through 4 other sales reps for the other sales position at my center in 2 years. Territory manager overwhelmed and not motivated.

Don't be so controlling micromanger, you built your team up well and everyone left.

    Pros

My employees were wonderful and worked for their patients. I was able to effectively grow the business for my location and provided excellent service.

    Cons

Once, I was promised bonuses for each center I was responsible for and received zero. In fact I made less after I was promoted, and had more responsibilities. I asked for information on FMLA for taking care of my father who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and was told I was not eligible. I was then fired for "not doing my job". My nickname for Lincare is the "Oxygen Mafia".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Center Manager in Denver, CO

    Pros

Very litle oversite, you will realy never see your manager if your numbers are good. All lincare cares about is your growing.

    Cons

Outdated tech... still using 1980's softwear.. as a manager you will never know in real time where your center is at. You will send your paper work up to RBCO and it will not show on your reports for several weeks. If you are given a project to complete you will be yelled at do to this lag in the paper work process. They will want to know why it is not done yet and blame it all on you even though you completed it over a week ago but RBCO has not processed it yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go to collage and get at least a bachelors degree. You need to quite running the company threw trial and error, and learn what to do. Quite hiring from with in the only people who I have seen promoted where the ones who where to incompetent to get a job with a better company, and had no choice but to stay with you. You are literaly promoting people to upper managment who other companies won't even hire for entry level positions.
