    Pros

Wine and dine to recruit you.

    Cons

Cut throat, political environment. All about numbers and filling seats yet don't want to enroll at risk kids because hard to "place them." Job placement affects their numbers.

    Pros

They attempt to adhere to professional standards so that their degrees are honored.

    Cons

It is almost difficult to believe how un-comitted the company is to the values of higher education.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a buyer for LCNE; stick to trade schools; LESC does not have what it takes to run a college.

    Pros

Freedom to work independently with little hindrance.

    Cons

Layoffs given with 10 minute notice and you're out the door! Only value the bottom line, not the person that is being affected (even those who just had babys). Uses the "At Will Employment" law to get rid of anyone they don't like. Work approvals must go through a Senior VP for finals, tying up the process and delays (not that they care they caused a delay). Constant quarterly budget cuts into the millions. Absolutely horrible TV ads - very low low budget. It would be better to just not have TV ads at that point. Marketing managers need to go back to marketing school!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A Senior VP should be more then a micro-manager approving minimal work. Question the ability of Marketing Managers and VP to actually do real marketing. If you are going to do layoffs that affect human beings - give them at least a 2-week notice. You would expect the same in return.

I worked at Lincoln Educational Services

    Pros

The ability to change a student's life and give them direction towards a rewarding career in their future. Watching students graduate and be excited about where they are going.

    Cons

Expenses were not paid on time.
Upper management was unable to solve the issue for over 6 weeks.
No consistent direction for how job was to be performed
Management did not work with team to direct and assist in completing job duties
    Treat everyone like a paycheck.
No concern for employees and their needs only care about the needs of the company. Three people were fired during my 2 month stay with the company for bogus reasons just because they needed to meet a quota.
No funds for marketing materials to be competitive with other schools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate should take a serious look at the local campus levels and not just in terms of how many leads they are getting. Local management should set up weekly meetings with new hires and spend time in the field supporting them. In addition, you should really consider how you treat your future employees when you tell them you are going to do something you should really hold to your word.

This is not a school of Higher Learning, unless you are talking about the drugs on campus.

    Pros

It is a job that pays.

    Cons

Level of academic integrity is very low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees. Stop treating students as a paycheck. Remove students that are caught breaking the rules, like smoking pot on campus.

I worked at Lincoln Educational Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Satisfying to assist students achieve their goals. And getting a paycheck. That's all!

    Cons

Upper management only cares about admissions (sales) and education is not important. Equipment outdated/old but admissions gets all sorts of lunches, dinners, vacation days, etc. just for doing their job! Students given a forum for their input, but only the tiniest/most inexpensive complaints are taken care of, just to say that "they are listening". Very decadent towards their upper management, even paying for annual trip to Atlantic City for 3-4 day "convention". That $ could be used towards bettering the actual schools!!! Instructional staff works very hard, but again, certain "expensive" programs get all of the good stuff, and management's ear, getting away with murder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time and money listening and taking care of your students. Admissions is important, but don't turn your back on the other departments in the schools. Delegation of responsibilities should be more equal. Should not promote managers simply because of seniority. Also, in some areas, some sexual discrimination occuring. If you are a younger female, you get stuck doing all the paperwork while the male boss takes your male counterparts out for golfing for the rest of the afternoon. You don't even get a thank you or any sort of appreciation, but seem to be avoided while the "boys" go out for happy hour at 4pm after accreditation walks out the door. Working 11 hour days and 6 days a week does not pay off, so don't bother. They just add on more work and use you up! And, though your record is spotless, one personal error and you are terminated, and the company refuses to return your personal items from your office! Gotta love it!
