    Career Services

    Career Services Advisor (Current Employee)

ProsThey are dedicated to educating individuals who want to learn a trade.

ConsVery little career advancement opportunities, little to no promotions from within, the benefits used to be decent but all of the monthly payments increased but receive less coverage, been here for 4 years and each year have only received a 3% raise, last year no raise was given, pay is low considering the industry average, HIGH turnover... I'll stop now.

Advice to Senior ManagementThey won't do anything about it so it doesn't matter.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Time for Change

Pros"Some" great individuals to work with.

ConsNo raises in 4 years... titles handed out for self serving individuals which takes moral down to a new low. Never have worked for a company that doesn't even give cost of living raises, yet upper management takes care of their own.

Advice to Senior ManagementTime to make changes to make this company great again.

Great People. Wonderful Coworkers. Excellent Students. No Corporate Direction

    Instructor (Current Employee) Columbia, MD

ProsMy coworkers are highly motivated and highly dedicated. The students are eager and energetic. The environment in the classroom is charged with the electricity of minds learning and growing. Campus level leadership is beyond compare. Kind, Coureous, Energetic and willing to provide any assistance they can.

ConsCorporate leadership and oversight is lacking. They are not willing to properly support all programs. The pay is less than any of the local competition in for profit and not for profit institutions alike. Corporate seems to be more interested in share value (which is decreasing rapidly) than people value (which is why turnover is so high).

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you are going to have a program then support it. If you are going to raise the cost of benefits (already done) then raise the cost of living pay for your instructors. Pay what the competition pays and you won't lose good people to the competition. Many people desperately want to teach at Lincoln but cannot afford to because of the poor wages.

Senior Management Turns a Blind Eye to Campus Issues

Director of Career Services (Former Employee) Edison, NJ

ProsYou have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students. Students rely on LES to give them a quality education that gives them the tools they need to succeed in the work force.

ConsThe competence of senior level managers is lacking. There are a couple who are doing a great job, and there are some who only have their positions because of seniority. A critical evaluation should be made of employees at all levels. If you are unable to do your job because of incompetence or lack of interest, it should be irrelevant how long you have been with the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementSenior management needs to know what is going on in the schools. They should not rely on the information from one manager. It is very easy to hide the real issues, and it appears that Senior Management does not know what questions to ask to find out what's really going on.

Advice to Prospective Employees and Students: Stay Away!!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsHeated parking garage at the Hartford facility. Not much else.

ConsNot a good place to work. As part of the security department, more and more work has been heaped upon us without salary increases. Mandatory overtime demands made on security staff without giving notice. Management is not concerned with our personal plans or schedules. Many students are practically illiterate. No SAT test scores are required, just a simple "entrance test" and proof you can pay the fees and you're admitted. Many enrollees (hard to call them "students) come from troubled backgrounds. Several think nothing of destroying property--kicking holes in walls and breaking apartment doors and throwing trash on the floors of their own residence hallways. Roofs leak and buckets appear everywhere during storms. Carpets are buckling and present a hazardous situation. There have been many spontaneous layoffs, though not in security, mostly based on salary. If there are two employees in a department, one will be let go based on his/her higher pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementWould be nice if you cared about all employees and not merely a select few.

    Poor

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood vacation benefits and good hours. Immediate management is easy to work with, tuition reimbursement is a great benefit for employees.

ConsPoor recognition for hard work. Hard workers are often punished by having to take on additional responsibility for no additional pay.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
