I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    BENEFITS are no that bad

    Cons

Management need to be replaced with competent. Personally know of two senior member of the management team who needed a calculator to add 30 and 60.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group

    Pros

excellent benefits. The pay is OK but the other benefits go above and beyond.

    Cons

it reminds me of a four-headed dog -- there is no clear strategic direction. And no one seems to agree on individual priorities. I've also seen a lot of poor behavior from from leaders - micromanagement, meanness... and it is allowed to go on for too long

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

spend some time with folks more than one level down from you.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

While the requirements for getting hired may be steep, incompetent people seem to do well here.

    Cons

For a company that makes a killing in life insurance, they don't value people at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start over/burn it down/rebuild the culture completely. "One Lincoln" may seem like a nice slogan, but it's meaningless in it's current practice. It's also time to start investing in technology again.
It's just a matter of time before before there's a data breach or the company gets pinched for using flimsy excuses for cancelling policies.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits package including 401K

Free continuing education in financial/insurance and tuition reimbursement.

    Fitness center

Generous amounts of paid time off (especially for me since I have almost 20 years of service)

    Cons

Understaffed and overworked. My manager should NEVER be allowed to manage people. A lot of bullying micromanagement, manipulation, and profanity. Current manager does not seem to keep confidential personnel information about fellow employees confidential.

    VERY outdated technology.

The company's multicultural program is manic.

The facility is outdated and shabby.

Upper management is either oblivious to the actions of its managers or is deliberately looking the other way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Address the problem of rogue managers. They are a drain on productivity and you are losing valuable hardworking employees because of it.

I have been working at Lincoln Financial Group full-time

    Pros

Used to be a nice environment to work for.

    Cons

If you don't have the background they want, you are screwed. If you only do a great job at work but not chat with senior management on sports during WORK HOURS, you are screwed.

The "inclusive and diversity" slogan came out only because of the discrimination lawsuit. If you chat with big boss on sports everyday, or if you happen to come from the background that helps them with the lawsuit, you don't need to be capable for your position but will have the most secured job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up! Great employees are leaving, leaving or being left. Where are they moving to? Your competitors!
