I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They make you feel very welcome at the beginning, you may even get to work remote a few days a week. Most jobs are pretty easy and routine. They offer 2 extra week of vacation at the end of the year, if CEO is in the mood. There is no annual performance - this may be good for some and not for others.

    Cons

Management is very secretive, even though they put on the appearance of transparency. Decisions are made by SVP & CIO behind the close doors and you get hit with the outcome. The annual increases are almost non existent. You're lucky to get a cost of living adjustment every year. Management keeps you on your toes by letting you know, you can be fired at any time. Medical/vision/dental benefits are basic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop promoting brown nosers and reward people based on the skill set and performance.

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Live Nation is an interesting company in a fun and sexy industry. You will definitely have the opportunity to work on some interesting projects and co-workers are friendly. As a whole, being employed by Live Nation definitely provides some unique experiences.

    Cons

The two major cons with Live Nation is the benefits package and weak leadership. The pay, I suppose, can be attributed to the fact that you're in the entertainment industry. The weak leadership, however, is because the company doesn't seem to really care about fostering good leaders that know how to manage other people. This is really a shame because work in general is interesting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider investing in serious management training and reevaluating why certain people are "leaders." Are some people "leaders" because they've been there a long time and talk a big game?

I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The pro is definitely getting to do something you are passionate about and getting to enjoy concerts (if you're not working them all the time). The work environment is casual in the office and you often get to meet some great people.

    Cons

The work-life balance is poor, especially if you have to work the concerts. There is little to no advancement in the company unless you are willing to pack up your life and move around the country and not get paid much for it. If you don't like your job, there are hundreds of people who want to take your place and are willing to pay the dues to get there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees more instead of making them feel replaceable. Create more internal motivation.

I have been working at Live Nation Entertainment full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The upper staff of the company wants to make Live Nation a better place to work for, but it doesn't mean everyone else will want that too.

    Cons

Can't vouch for other departments, but the ones I work with including mine, lack basic management skills, guilt you into working long hours and don't allow room for creativity. Self care and balancing work and personal life is IMPORTANT- some people think otherwise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delve into each departments culture and core values...and work within to help make a positive impact on company culture. Departments are similar to states- they all have their own rules, but are still under one country.

    Pros

    Compensation was fair.
    The building was pretty.
The location was great, right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    Cons

Senior management very immature. Made decisions with very little understanding of the technology of which they were in charge. Any attempt to educate them was met with hostility.

    Pros

Concerts, Pay, Benefits, Pet Friendly, Never Dull

    Cons

Hours, Work Load, Shady Upper Management, Lifestyle, Dishonest

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with a little respect. Don't use them for your own personal gain. The workload you ask your Managers to perform under is not contusive to a successful business relations. Yes you may pay well but the abusive culture is not worth the pay

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Lots of perks-- free concert tickets, really cool office with a nice break area, schedule was very flexible, laid back environment, casual dress and an opportunity to network with other music industry professionals

    Cons

Lack of any structure, no training whatsoever, upper management was frankly incompetent. A lot of favoritism... it was very obvious who was liked by management and who wasn't. Extreme lack of communication. New positions constantly being created, combined or eliminated so nobody ever knew what their role was.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get competent leaders; have some meetings and figure out everyone's set duties and follow up to make sure they are following through.

    Pros

Very laid back work environment, great people, free concerts

    Cons

Extremely poor upward mobility, poor compensation, can work extremely hard without it being noticed or rewarded in any way

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is making all the right acquisitions and is doing extremely well financially, but that success is not being distributed throughout the company. The company needs to be re-structured internally to reflect its recent growth and financial success.
