I worked at Live Nation Entertainment (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was freelance, so can't comment on full-time positions at Live Nation. I enjoyed the freedom and pay as a freelancer.

    Cons

Touring life was difficult and left little room for personal relationships. Very rarely was I able to commit to any events more than a few months in advance.

  2. Great exposure

    Pros

I spent many years at Live Nation and enjoyed most of them. Not perfect, but I would recommend it as one of the best jobs in the music industry.

    Cons

It's a BIG company, and so sometimes it can be difficult to navigate and a little tricky to get things done. All in all, not bad though.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees as much as possible, they have great ideas that can help guide the overall strategy of the company.

    Great Company, Room for Improvement

I worked at Live Nation Entertainment as a contractor

    Pros

Awesome perk of being able to get access to concerts, surrounded by people who love what they're doing, great location on Michigan Avenue

    Cons

Not the "sexy" office environment you might envision for such a power house in the music industry, not much room for movement within the office- if you want to move up, chances are you'll be moving to another office

    Pros

Big company with dozens of departments and known for its over the top events. Great for students to be exposed to entertainment industry.

    Cons

During my internship I got irregular communication from my supervisor. Didn't get a welcoming experience. Explain to interns more how each department affects another.

    Advice to Management

Is a dog friendly office really necessary?

    Pros

Really cool to see the office side and day of show productions

    Cons

No gas compensation for driving around, the office atmosphere a bit too lax at times with animals running around constantly.

    Advice to Management

Do a bit more of career mentoring and let us know how to get a job in the future!

    Pros

-Great location (hussle and bussle of Hollywood is exciting)
-Fun people (everyone is easy to talk too)
-Dog friendly (huge plus for me)

    Cons

-Location (traffic is horrible coming and going)
-Hard to move upward (have to wait for people to leave/get fired)

    Advice to Management

Give interns the best of their months with more responsibilities and projects for them to learn from.

    Pros

    - Unique problems to solve in the live music business space
    - Access to live events
    - Bring your dog to work
    - High performing company
    - Good location in Hollywood

    Cons

    - Lacks career development/learning
    - Highly layered structure
    - Too many "VP" levels - middle heavy
    - Difficult to progress, external hires tend to come in high up
    - Benefits are far from competitive

    Advice to Management

Spend more time developing employees instead of hiring in. Leadership development programs for up and coming employees, not just senior employees.

    Pros

flexible, nice people, free coffee, great music, got a tan

    Cons

Not enough free merch, too cold, smelly, no compensation, too loud

    Advice to Management

Please find a way to pay interns, they do a lot of hard work and deserve some sort of monetary compensation.

  11. It was cool to have access to shows, and all the artist. The hours were tedious since you had to work shows on weekends.

    Pros

Being able to attend concerts for free, and have a relaxed work environment during the week.

    Cons

Work on most weekends, which doesn't seem to be overly compensated. Work on the weekends tends to be longer hours setting up for shows.
