    Incredible company and opportunity!

    Sales (Current Employee)
    Torrance, CA

ProsFinally you can sell advertising that works. It goes a long way to sell a product you can be proud of...everyday merchants contact us giving us praise. Fun work environment full of talented sales professionals. Potential for growth is extremely quick for those that shine.

ConsIts a big start-up so expect changes to happen. Tools for the inside team aren't as efficient as they should be however company is making those adjustments.

Advice to Senior ManagementEvaluate the process flow at the sales level better. I think you'll find that our current processes are preventing top reps from doing what they do best, selling. How archaic is it that we still have to dial the phone....good news is the rumor is this is changing but after 3+ years, really?

Rocket ship fun ride with friends

    Manager, Sales (Current Employee)

ProsI've worked here for 3+ years and have held jobs at several companies prior. I did not know that "work" could be this interesting and fun. LS hires smart, hungry people. I have not met one yet that I would not sit down and enjoy talking to. The people are ethical and adaptive. This company is still young and evolving, which means change is always around the corner. I've learned to thrive in this environment given the manager's/leader's I've had and a philosophy to "do your best" given the task at hand. I've missed goals and deadlines but been able to prove that I'm doing the BEST I can do, and leadership appreciates that.

ConsThere's constant opportunities to grow but you may need to seek them out and take ownership of that. Not always a defined class to take etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep sharing and involving cross functional groups to assist in making decisions as you are now. Keep the focus on process improvement and rewards for those getting the job done. Keep an eye on the employees. Happy employees make happy customers.

ProsThe culture at LivingSocial is great. It's great to work around such fun, energetic and smart people. I actually enjoy coming to work every day, and I feel that I am being challenged and have the opportunity to grow.

ConsConstant change. This can be tough to adjust to sometimes, but it keeps things interesting.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to focus on employee retention by building career paths and promoting and rewarding people that have earned it.

Where else do you get the opportunity to..

    Management (Current Employee)
    Torrance, CA

ProsSell guaranteed customers to local SMB's with no upfront money all day, then play foosball while enjoying a company Happy Hour after? I've been at the company for over 3 years, seen massive growth that most only dream of being a part of. The people working here are what make me wake up everyday and look forward to head into the office. Hard working, intelligent, resourceful people that take pride in winning as individuals and as a team. The culture is amazing if you are a positive social person and enjoy selling advertising that works. I've truly made lifelong friends and look forward to many years of career growth and winning to come!

ConsWith the explosive growth and the associated hiring needs, not everyone was a good fit. This creates an environment of frustration for a few that can be tough for everyone. There was a short time where the company may have gotten ahead of itself with a sense of invulnerability. It's good to be back on the right track!

Advice to Senior ManagementGreat work navigating the ship through tough uncharted waters! There is a sense that upper management has finally got their ear to the tracks where previously they may have not. Let's continue this and hopefully expand on it.

    Progress, Opportunity, and Fun?

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Tucson, AZ

ProsLet me first say that Tucson is well known for having a competitive call center industry. There are dozens of call center options, plenty of diverse work environments, and a few centers even have competitive pay. LivingSocial blows all of them out of the water.

LivingSocial provides an amazing starting salary along with tons of potential for advancement. In the last two years LivingSocial has expanded the number of projects in their Tucson office and more then doubled their Customer Service employee count. If that's not enough, the environment is extraordinary! Snacks and drinks are provided all day, everyday. Big screen TVs, miniature golf, and a zen room top the list of my favorite environmental additions provided to LivingSocial employees.

Not only is the environment wonderful, but it's stable. In other call centers you can literally see people disappearing day by day. That's not the case here. People work hard to do well, and you almost never hear about an employee leaving the company. I don't know what LivingSocial's attrition rate is, but it must be close to nothing.

If you didn't get it from everything I said above, I'm extremely happy to be working here, and I can't wait to see what the future brings for LivingSocial and their Tucson office.

ConsIf you choose to work for LivingSocial, be sure to bring a peppy attitude, and prepare for change. This is a young company, and is constantly re aligning itself with it's consumer's needs. That means learning new processes, procedures, and systems for the duration of your employment.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think the management here is great! They have always worked to address any employee concerns, and understand that communication needs to be their top priority.

So grateful I looked at the long time opportunity, paid off in 2013

    Outside Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsCommission over 150,000 in 2013, As an executive I have 700 a month towards travel, they match some 401 K, Base is just over 50K, Merchants love results, Company has great business model to flourish in this industry.

ConsChanging industry and very competitive. Deals that sell good one year may not the next but the deal that didn't sell good 3 years ago sells amazing now.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen and reply to all thumb up responses from customers and make them happy that's how we keep growing. Listen to those that performed the last 3 to 4 years. I am seldom asked, above my Director, how or why what you did or doing works and why a deal didn't work?

It's a great place to work

    Merchant Services (Current Employee)
    Tucson, AZ

ProsLivingSocial cares about it's employees, even at the lowest pay grade (where I started) they offer the same benefits anyone else can get along with some great employee programs to help.

ConsThe work can be tough, and our business partners can sometimes not be the most understanding. Also, it can be difficult to communicate with other departments.
