Current Employee – been working at Loblaw full-time for more than a year
Pros – The people are probably the greatest part - everyone is down to earth, helpful, and it's a pretty young company overall. Management is very available and responsive, Some nice benefits.
Cons – Feels like salary is generally lower than average, or not adequate for the amount of time and dedication your job requires.
Advice to Senior Management – More enticing or at least competitive salaries would be nice, and would help retain employees...I could be gone as soon as I find something more interesting.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Loblaw full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Despite its efforts to amalgamate supply and management centrally- staff are still community focussed and driven to client satisfaction. Business strategies are a constant update meaning every day brings new challenges.
Cons – A publically traded company meaning profits go away from workers-wages are frozen for top employees and are falling behind cost of living. Most full time employees are barely hanging on. Training hour allowance have been removed making it nearly impossible to bring in new talent- generally that is the sign of the end in most organizations. The management teams are holding their breath for improvement in 2013-14.
Advice to Senior Management – Shake up the issues between specialists and department managers-follow up on issues regarding SPLAN changes and stop shoving inventory down the pipe. If we say we don''t need it, we're usually correct.

Current Employee – been working at Loblaw
Pros – Loblaw provides a wonderful opportunity for job growth and on-the-job learning to its employees which, in turn, creates loyalty and a great sense of pride.
Cons – One of the challenges at working for Loblaw would be the number of managers and decision makers that expect their visions and ideas to be implemented above and beyond those from their peers. The large number of visions can create tensions whereby it is difficult to appease all visions simultaneously.

Current Employee – been working at Loblaw
Pros – - Good pay for a student
- Great environment
- Flexible schedule
- Lots of hours for new employees ( But on the long run, I'm not sure but I can see mostly everyone get 15-20 hours/week)
- Minimal supervisor
- Easy job if you don't mind remembering like 50 products code - which was only popular one : orage, onion, etc ( Not to mention around 100 more code to know )
Cons – - Rude customer/ Treat cashier like doormat
- Customer who expect us to know EVERYTHING INSIDE OUT like not putting on a code( tie code paper on the plastic bag) for a freaking-spices. And not knowing what they're buying and say we Cashier suppose to know that.
- Manager/Supervisor should get more "management" class
- Lack of communication between new hires and Front End Supervisor
- Some not-so-great co-workers
Advice to Senior Management – - Please be reasonable and understanding.
- Be friendly with your employees even though you dont like it

Current Employee – been working at Loblaw
Pros – Decent pay and benefits help offset the demands that the company puts on the department managers. It's a salary position and more often than not you may find yourself working overtime for free.
Cons – The company expects you to do all your own administrative work, which leaves little time to be on the sales floor.
Advice to Senior Management – Department managers should be appreciated more, especially when they put in all the extra hours that are required. Also, there should be exceptions made when a department manager wants to have a stat holiday off

Former Employee – worked at Loblaw
Pros – I just worked here as a student so it was a good place to work with friends and make some money for school.
Cons – There was no hope of going up in the company too far if you worked in the store because of obvious reasons.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
