    Pros

Great pay, benefits, lots of time off.

    Cons

The work was monotonous and slow. People tend to get pigeonholed into specific job functions.

    I worked at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

Lockheed supports a good work / life balance and an 'open door' policy with access to management. Employees are encouraged to be 'free thinkers' and make suggestions to improve processes & procedures. Compensation is aligned with industry standards. The benefits offered for medical, dental, 401K, etc are outstanding.
Employees enjoy a business casual environment but everyone knows you have a job to do.

    Cons

Frequent re-organizations should be expected - and the end result sometimes leaves you scratching your head wondering "Why?" Which brings up the next point - management does not readily share information with non-management staff. Meetings hosted by executives tend to sugarcoat & wordsmith conditions masking what the real situation might be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the 'stay in your seat' speeches. If you lose employees through attrition, uncertainty, lack of trust - you have 5 other new recruits waiting for that job. Sure, it costs $ to hire and train new people. It's the cost of doing business. Don't close that position and expect the workload to be absorbed by the employees still (already) WORKING HARD.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time

    Pros

9/80 schedule. Big company to move around on campus and at different locations world wide. Good work life balance depending on the program you are working, but in general its a typical work week. On site gym. The onsite cafe is so-so. It's not the best or best priced, but its convenient. People tend to be pretty nice. Nothing out of the ordinary with big corporations. You have the complainers that VPs and higher ups are too high paid, yada yada, and then you have the people who just get stuff done without complaining. In general it's a good place to work. Personal growth is definitely there if you are a go getter!

    Cons

The only major con I see is that its a slow paced environment if no major contracts have been won. Also with any Aerospace job, you might be stuck creating a bracket/widget for years without ever seeing one made. There in a transition phase right now which causes a little bit of disconcern.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Way too many layers of management. Simplify it and make leaders accountable for things that matter, not pie in the sky phony schedules. Put pressure on workers when deadlines are necessary, not just because you can.

    I worked at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

Working on seriously awesome technical projects is amazing.
I feel like I am a valued member of the team.
The culture is open and friendly

    Cons

The management sometimes doesn't completely understand the needs of the engineers. They set unrealistic requirements and inadequate funding, it doesn't happen often but it does happen

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lockheed has many opportunities for different types of work. If you've got the ability then they will have opportunities to work. Most positions have a very flexible work schedules. For being a large corporation they try to make sure employees feel valued.

Available work within Lockheed core locations are plenty

    Cons

It's still a corporation and employees can easily fall through the cracks if they work outside of LM facilities.
Available Work outside of Lockheed core locations are sparse.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

If you have any background in Military Aviation then this company makes you feel right at home. Some policies change but overall amongst the ones that matter terminology and practices remain. The pay is good compared to other companies in the same market and the ability to work as much as you want is there.

    Cons

Sometimes you may feel as if your stuck in the advancement department waiting for higher positions to open up. The Union for the mechanics isn't flexible enough for all the locations of its members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing bad to say about the management as a whole. Only advice I'd give is to set a standard that everyone adheres too. There is too many different management techniques being applied to the same group of workers.
