    I worked at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

I loved the opportunities they have given to me. They are receptive to new opportunities for growth.

    Cons

There is a lot of red tape and hard to move up as with many large corp

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The yearly survey is not going to tell the whole story of employee happiness. Retention of ISLDP especially is now, likely because they are being held back even when they are qualified due to all of the HR red tape and they jump ship for a company that wants all of their talent. I have seen this so many times.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and salaries, flexible schedules, interesting assignments. Proud to have been part of the team in this defense company.

    Cons

Sometimes susceptible to layoffs due to contracts ending. Work schedules sometimes very demanding. Should always stay current on latest technology and be willing to change jobs to pursue those skills to prevent running into a dead end career path when you can no longer afford to make the change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Initiate job sharing programs for older workers to retain knowledge and experience that can be passed on to next generation.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

They care about their workers. Yes they demand high quality and quantity of work, but you have an excellent vacation package as well as other benefits. Managers also try to work with you regularly on professional development so you reach your goals.

    Cons

The hours are long and your customers can be very demanding. Not all of your coworkers enjoy their jobs and will sometimes take it out on you if it seems like you're in their way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more staff to keep up with workload.
