    Pros

Working there will allow you to move into different and challenging positions. You can also work at different location around the world.

    Cons

Some of the challenges in working on some programs is that the contract you are working on can come to a close at which time you have to move on to another program.

    Advice to Management

Management have to help employees find another assignment for the employee to work particularly when a contract is coming to an end.

  3. Great place to work, but the Civil side is unsteady

    Pros

Telecommute, great hours (over-time is a rarity). There is always an effort to train.

    Cons

Must be willing to live government contract to contract. Always have a resume ready. If you're not billable you're at risk; if there are budget issues, you're at risk.

    Pros

Good benefits, salary, management leaves you to do your work.

    Cons

Wholly dependent upon government contracts, funding is always an issue. Not much opportunity for advancement. upward or sideways. Technical training is available for developers, but otherwise, not. Director recently told team that we need to make our own investment in our training to show our commitment to Lockheed.

    Advice to Management

Good management, but some unethical game playing due to funding pressues

I had twelve years with some highs and lows, but I feel it was better than many companies their size.

    Pros

Huge company, jobs everywhere if you looked, would reward people to stay

    Cons

HR was pretty poor (missed sending a letter for life insurance), there was no work/home balance. I had a 98 hour work week once with no overtime or bonus.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees more. Never hound them to respond to email 24 hours a day. Remember, they are what make you look good or bad.

    Pros

Lots of diversified work across the company. A lot of opportunities within leadership programs for extra training and career development.

    Cons

Some business areas are disconnected from the central company. Communication may lack to some employees that have restrictions on their email access due to where they work.

    Advice to Management

Continue leadership development programs, continue career planning resources.

    Pros

Flex 40 work hours are nice, but benefits aren't great. Salary is ok, but not super competitive. If you're competent and stick around, you can shine, given that you can put up with all the cons.

    Cons

Nothing ever changes. Things stay the same on a project for years on end, if not decades. Extremely risk averse, which means any change is considered as being bad.
