    Pros

Outstanding colleagues, very team-oriented environment, tons of learning opportunities. The leadership is genuinely interested in seeing you grow in the company.

    Cons

Not too many cons to speak of. However, you must really love the insurance industry. If you are not fully invested, you will not thrive in the community of individuals who really love the field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Lockton Companies

    Pros

Management values their people by listening to needs and requests and putting them into action. They promote from within.

We work hard- very hard -and we always learn something new.

    Cons

Technology is lacking. This creates duplication of work in terms of documentation and tracking data.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training is on the job only. This creates holes in knowledge base until a situation arises. There needs to be a more formalized/thoughtful curriculum to cover the many facets of what we do for employers.

    Pros

Fantastic company. Recently found myself feeling stagnated in my current role, and received an incredible amount of support and encouragement to start searching out a role that would be a better fit. This company believes in working hard and playing even harder. If you put in the effort you will be rewarded.

    Cons

Definitely can feel like a heavy workload from time to time. You can sometimes feel like you don't have a lot of direction, but Lockton believes in testing you and making you earn your keep.

    Pros

Great people, great company, competitive, great managers, professional atmosphere.

    Cons

Sometimes heavy on work load, other times not enough to do. Still there are opportunities to work on projects and classes when not as much to do.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

It is a place of constant learning and evolution with a lot of great people who are concerned with taking care of the client. Being privately held means we do not have artificial pressures which take us away from doing what is right for the long term.

    Cons

The firm has been slow to embracing technology to be more nimble and cutting edge to drive efficiency. The firm very recently started implementing new initiatives and the payoff should start to show in the next 12 - 18 months. I think we can do more after those initiatives are implemented.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be awesome if Lockton was an ESOP which would tie our Associates closer to the results of the hard work.

I have been working at Lockton Companies full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

It is a family owned company and they treat all of the associates here like family. Even during the hard financial times a few years back when there was a lot of layoff's in Kansas City, Lockton did not lay anyone off. They prefer to retain the associates. There are not many companies in KC much less the US that look at the associates that way.

    Cons

    IT doesn't get yearly bonuses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restart the bonus program for Shared Services
