    Pros

Great benefits, company car, good salary

    Cons

Horrible culture that allows managers to treat their employees however they want. Mine specifically was a bully not just to me, but my coworkers and was essentially a major contributing factor to the breakup of my engagement. In the interest of transparency, I was let go in July of 2014, but not from lack of me trying to control my destiny. I worked from 7 am to 4 pm and would often leave my house prior to 5 am in order to allow myself ample time to prepare for the day.

    Advice to Management

Don't be a bully, recognize your employees, treat them like assets, train middle management to be effective, encouraging, supportive managers.

    Pros

This once was a good place to work. Good pay, great benefits, with company car, 401K and retirement package. Can set your own goals.

    Cons

This company was sold to RJR which in turn sold the remaining company to Imperial Toacco Group out of the UK.

    Advice to Management

I get the feeling that none of us are going to be secure with the new company. I guess it's time to 're-evaluate.

    Pros

The area that I work in the people are
    Great including manager.
    Good salary great benefits etc
    Wish we weren't being sold

    Cons

Lorillard will no longer be around.
I can tell you that many of the current employees don't want to go to work for
Itg brands because we all heat how badly
They are to work for..There is going to be
So much to do and also way too many
Products for 1 rep to work.a lot of us are
    Hoping for a package.

    Advice to Management

Offer a good package to your employees
The new company needs to split the cigarette and cigar like PM did.
The sales force will get burnt out quickly.
Must also offer more comp for doing more.

    Pros

Good benefits, company car, decent pay. Not micro managed, on your own most days. Fast paced and competitive environment. Co workers are helpful.

    Cons

Company has been sold and will be split between Commonwealth Altadis and RJR. Future is uncertain at best. Tobacco sales are trending down.

    Advice to Management

    CEO sold everyone out.

    Pros

Team members, The people who I worked with are very good. Wasn't sure why some of these people did not go to another company. Valued employees in my opinion.

    Cons

Be very careful to make sure that your territory is safe. Working with Newport Co. usually puts in urban areas that you may not be familiar with. Management can be very overbearing and totally full of themselves. Work life balance is actually pretty good Pay rate is poor compared to other tobacco companies. This company has no bonus accentive (this is important). So pay rate may seem okay, however in reality not comparable with other companies. Also be careful because this can be a somewhat physical job and there is a good possibility of being injured while working. So make a good decision.

    Advice to Management

Just let your employees do their jobs please. Micromanaging (Big Headed Managers) are the killer for this company.
