    Graduate Assistant

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsYou'll work under one of your professors, so provided that relationship is healthy, you'll have an excellent boss. You're generally left to your own devices, but you can ask for assistance at any time and expect to receive it.

ConsPaychecks dispersed only once a month, and massive corruption/favoritism/politics at the upper echelons of university management.

Advice to Senior ManagementI wouldn't bother offering advice: they'd never take it.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Phd students live like rats,

Graduate Research Assistant (Current Employee) Ruston, LA

Prosdecent education for the money they charge undergraduate students

ConsThe stipend for PhD students is miserable. And this is probably the only school in the country where PhD students have to pay full tution even after finishing their required courses. I literally lived like a rat , scavenging for food, getting into debts and barely making it through school. No health benefits too. Monetarily, this is perhaps the worst school for a PhD graduate student to be in and I will not recommend this school to any one unless they remove tution and give a decent stipend.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemove instate fees for PhD candidates and offer discounted housing+health insurance plan+ food plan that would offset the low stipend amount being paid.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
