    Pros

Lowe's provides an excellent atmosphere that is fun, safe, and comfortable to work in. I was worried about not knowing where things were when a customer asked, but you can always look to a fellow employee to give you a hand....with anything! If you've never used powered equipment, that will change.

    Cons

If you aren't full time, hours will get cut around Summer time. Having a heavy work-load and having to cover 1 or 2 other departments. When you put on the vest, the customer will assume that you know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING in the store while others will expect you to be in 2 places at once. It may seem tedious at times, but no matter how busy you are, you have to make it a habit to stop and ask EVERY customer (with a smile) if they could use your help for anything.

    Advice to Management

Just remember what it was like when you were entry level. Even if you are a fast learner, you can't get it all figured out in a day...or even a month. Be good to your employees and they will be good to you....at least they should, anyways.

    Pros

If you have no education, this is a good place to work. You can learn a lot about things you can do for your home. Quarterly bonus known as SSEI.

    Cons

Biased when promoting. Doesn't matter experience, skills, or education. Shady politics.

    Advice to Management

Implement and enforce corporate views in each location.

    Pros

Wonderful management, schedule is released well ahead of time, better than average starting pay

    Cons

Repetitive, mind numbing work cashiering, customers expect cashiers to be experts on everything home improvement related.

    Pros

Good company, good people. A good place to learn about almost everything for home improvements.

    Cons

I am only seasonal worker, so after the 4th of July week, the sales slows down, so they start cutting hours.

    Advice to Management

None. I like the management here.

    Pros

You get the meet a lot of different kind of people, and if you allow, it can be a great learning experience! And you can grow in so many ways, just keep your chin up!

    Cons

If you Allow the evil and bad in the world to take control, it will consume you. It can suck you in and never let you go... But just like the rest of the world.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people, what they have to say should be important, without them, you'll have nothing. Happy employees will help the business more than you could ever imagine!

    Pros

Pay is good. Big box retail experience is good.

    Cons

Lots of favoritism. If you are not the store managers "Buddy" then there isn't much you can do to stay on the good list Its a different world in West Texas. All other lowes from what I see and hear are great to work for

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your associates when they beg for guidance and training.

    Pros

Very flexible hours, which is good because I work along with school. This is good experience in lower level management, since that's what head cashiering is.

    Cons

Some early hours, but that's the job. Don't do it if you can't handle it. That's basically it.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have much to say. I enjoy my job. I hope to stay here for a while.
