    Pros

discount was the only pro and it was reduced to 10%

    Cons

90% of the in store employees are young adults. The older staff thinks like children and are not professional in their behavior. the general staff seem sad and deporessed

Former Employee - Customer Service Associate/Loader in Oviedo, FL

    Pros

Little micro-management. Hot Dog guy gives discounts. Co-workers. Benefits.

    Cons

Assistant Managers. They get overworked and therefore don't care about your issues. Tend to pick favorites and treat them better/let them get away with murder. Awful pay; worked there for 3 years and only accrued a total of $1.50 in raises. Also, working in Florida, the summer's are an absolute dread and you don't get any help when you work all day the sun.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More loaders. Get a clue what your employees do.

    Pros

Very Flexible Schedule and great work environment . The pay is good for an entry level position. Benefits are good and have opportunities to invest in stock and 401k.

    Cons

Hard to advance within the company unless you know someone. Managers often don't care about employees and turnover rate is really high because of that. To them you are just another worker and expendable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

pay is higher than expected, ok medical and dental and has 401k and 10% employee discount

    Cons

work to death. no social and family life. never a thank you. when you always go above and beyond its no longer going above and beyond, its expected and when you dont go above and beyond you get reprimanded while others stand around. Reward worthless employees while the hard workers pull the rest of the weight.

    Pros

Better than average pay, above minimum wage and then some for certain positions. Management encourages a fun, positive atmosphere. Pins, cups, T-Shirts, etc. are give to deserving employees for customer focused recognition. SSEI cash bonus awarded when store receives 100% in various categories.

    Cons

Sexual harrassment is addressed, but bullying is not. If children are chastised for bullying other children, shouldn't adults be held to the same standards? Also, the interview process has grown extremely stale. When trying to advance within the store positions, you are asked the same interview questions over and over again... Lowes needs to enter the 21st Century with some new concepts if the are going to keep the workplace enticing to the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire employees for bullying like you would for sexual harassment! It is as negative emotionally in both instances and needs to be addressed in the same manner. The Rotating schedule does not benefit ANYONE including the store, a new work schedule needs to be implemented with consistency, especially for people with families. Let the people who want to open, open and the people who want to close, close.

    Pros

The starting rate of pay is higher than the minimum wage. The bonus amount that is received when the number are met are decent.

    Cons

They really push the part time minimum. Hard to move up within the store. Depending on where your position is within the company when it comes to the store meetings the topics that are usually discussed seem irrelevant.
