    Pros

It all depends on the location you work. Good people means good work.

    Cons

Not too many. Just depends on location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Chill out. The store sells itself. Let associates enjoy doing their work and dont always micromanage.

    Pros

friendly atmosphere, great co-workers (lower management), cool team meetings, dynamic atmosphere.

    Cons

no promotion from within, poor pay for most positions, managers are abusive/power hungry, HR is laughable and everyone's worst enemy, When you need to call out sick you get interrogated and made to feel even worse.....somehow the company cant find the money to stop using DOS, throw an accident free party when it is due, or invest in working technology (iphone garbage)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    promote from within.....seriously.....

    Pros

There are some awesome opportunities to move up in the company and you are supported along the way up.

    Cons

It's retail therefore you will have several opportunities for frustration so just be prepared to smile and move on. Customer is always right and that is the way it should be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue doing what your doing and build a great environment for your employees and customers.

    Pros

Lowe's pays better than most retailers.
Lowe's always has volunteer activities going on.
Lowe's honestly strives to put family life, first. Yes, they run a business first and foremost, but whenever possible they will be flexible.
I enjoy the fun working environment.
They are constantly offering opportunities for personal and professional growth

    Cons

It is retail, so you work weekend, nights, holidays. If you can accept that is isn't a horrible CON.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Never forget where you came from and who keeps this company running on the ground floor.

    Pros

The company as a whole is great, and they had decent wages, if you are looking for a part time job then this is a great company to work for

    Cons

Scheduling wasn't that great because you never knew what days and times you were working and it was constantly different like for instance one day i would come in at 530 am and work until 3pm and the next day i would close and the next day i would work the early morning shift again. The days i would close and then open were hard because of the lack of sleep. No benefits for part time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make scheduling easy for employees like having them close all one week and open all the next week

    Pros

Great advancement potential and greater than average pay scale. A long way from corporate suffocation, store side is the way to work with this company. Although training and policy is constantly a challenge, I blame it on corporate and not stores. Hard work and a good work ethic will get you a long way with this company.

    Cons

I worked in the Corporate environment with Lowe's for a short while and found the excessive micro-management of every aspect of employees work was counterproductive and defeating for motivation. It seems that a great company has allowed a boardroom to determine policy to an extent that they cannot imagine the stress placed on the employees that actually do the work. Between to massively confusing software (s) (plural) that are required to perform jobs, the multiple steps required to complete a project and finding anyone that can actually answer a question without having to ask someone else, they definitely need to streamline the whole system to make it more user friendly to the employee as well as the customer. Super frustration with this area. I think if they can get this straightened out then the other problems that are affected will work themselves out. this applies to corporate as will as retail.
The constant changing schedule makes in insane to have a life outside of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to check with employees in each department to see who prefers what schedule. I personally don't have a preference to weekends off and like working nights, my coworkers prefer days and like weekends off. This could help keep call outs down and allow quality time with family. It isn't that difficult. No more trial by fire with training, Really make sure employees learn what they need. No one likes to feel like an idiot in front of a customer and co-workers will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat if you screw up. Spend more time talking to your employees instead of at them.

The employes there are all good on a name to name accompaniment. Always looking to help one another

    Cons

The hours can get messed with. Requested time off is a hassle and takes a while to process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to get better way to access personal time off an when scheduled to work.

    Pros

If you love being around people you will love it here. As long as you can communicate well with customers and co workers you will be just fine.

    Cons

The only thing I don't like is the hours. Some days you'll be opening and some days you'll be closing. There is no set schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to help a little more with training new employees.
