Flat structure and frequent changes, providing opportunity and sometimes chaos.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Coopersburg, PA

ProsOpportunities to move into different areas and work in varied projects and roles. Flat/non-existent org chart, so there aren't a lot of management layers between the average employee and top leaders.

ConsInformal structure means internal politics can dominate decision making. Frequent changes in projects and priorities often aren't well-explained

    A unique organization

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThis company has been on the forefront of it's markets for a very long time and produces very good products. They are dedicated to innovation and it is built on a very solid foundation. The culture among employees is as friendly as you would expect in the small headquarters town.

ConsFor all of its history and statements about taking care of the customer, the company struggles to admit the viability of negative customer opinions and effectively address the issues that form them.

Great place to start your career.. then move on.

Project Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) Coopersburg, PA

ProsAverage salary with decent benefits. Middle of the way for what is offered. Excellent profit sharing when times are good. Use the 401k match as it will grow.
Above average capability of people. You learn a lot very quickly. Everybody is willing to help and that is a great culture to work in.

ConsTop heavy. Employees are not valued for their overall contribution but for their isolated contributions.
Long hours at times. Have had to put in long hours at times, and seen others put in even longer hours.
There is very little diversity. When I started it was minuscule, but it improved a little over time.
The biggest problem is the area, small industrial town in white america. Philly and NY are close, but not for a daily commute.

Advice to Senior ManagementUse people to the best of their abilities.
Do not freeze pay and then promote everybody in upper management.
    Have clear coordinated direction.

ProsThey give you tremendous responsibility as an intern.
You will earn a lot very quickly
    Very knowledgeable co-workers
    Great pay for interns
Subsidized fully furnished housing located close to work

ConsLocation, there's not much to do in Coopersburg. NY and Philly are not too far away though.
They don't have too many interns during the Spring and Fall.
No 401k or paid vacation for interns

Frustrating and rewarding all at the same time

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Coopersburg, PA

ProsInnovative company producing some truly great products.
Opportunity to move within the company and take on roles and responsibilities outside what you would be able to do with a larger company

ConsCan be frustrating at lack of direction of the overall strategy. Lots of unrealised potential.
HR structure is vague and unclear to employees

Advice to Senior ManagementClarify HR expectations, identify a strategy and stick with it.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
