    Disappointed

Eligibility Specialist II (Current Employee) Albany, NY

ProsFlexible hours, and a diverse workforce are the best things about Maximus. I made many new friends I will continue to hang out with.

ConsThe supervisors will steal your ideas and present them to upper management as their own. Supervisors are rude and disrespectful. If you are out of work under a drs care, they will fire you. The health care plans are expensive. We were severely over worked and underpaid.

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer fair wages. Train supervisors in honesty, integrity, and respect for other people, instead of throwing those words around on paper

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Was Not So Bad. Nice Company. Terrible Supervisor Experience

Outreach Counselor (Former Employee) Houston, TX

    ProsGot to work from home
    Had employee appreciation
    Great training
    Flexible

    ConsMICROMANAGERS
Hard to balance between work and personal life due to working from home
You're held VERY liable for all client information (not really a con, just makes you nervous)
    Not enough personal interaction

Advice to Senior ManagementI would advise that you start realizing that we are people, not machines. And your discipline policies need some work. No one likes getting written up over things out of their control

    Opportunity

Senior Management (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsOpportunities are very diverse, from geography to function.
Work hard, have 'can do' attitude and many doors are opened and available.
Company is laser focused on "helping government serve the people" CEO takes that mission seriously, always looking for opportunity to improve services.
    Great people.

ConsCompensation disparity (removing the contract nature of the work, significant disparity exists across the organization at all levels - entry to senior management).
This organization has grown very quickly and the shift from old culture to new culture has some pains - not necessarily a con, but something to navigate.
There is large disconnect between field offices and corporate office. Very top down approach.

Advice to Senior ManagementDecide what culture you are truly trying to create, stick with it with every action, message, and communication. Make certain actions reflect messages and value trying to create.

    Great Mission, Successful Company

    Anonymous (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsStrong management teams, good supervisors; noble mission and a lot of passion for the work.

ConsToo many employees trying to game the system, being absent or abusing leave and leaving the rest with to pick up the pieces. Too much personal drama.

Advice to Senior ManagementClear out the dead wood quicker.

ConsLack of supervision meant a lack of information sometimes.

Great company to work for as a whole, but some tweaks needed on the Texas Project.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits, bonuses and yearly evaluations for pay raises and growth opportunities.

ConsNo transparency between different departments and some management lacking leadership skills.

Advice to Senior ManagementCarefully review attrition reasons and make the proper adjustments to keep valuable employees and dismiss the ones that are lacking, even if that includes management.
