    Pros

MD Anderson Cancer Center offers you the possibility of growing and interacting with leading edege technologies and new discoveries. Good work-life balance and benefits. International and multidisciplinar atmosphere.

    Cons

Compensation is not too high , NIH standard , but enough to live in Houston Needed a good mentorship, otherwise there is the risk of getting lost since the institution is so big

    Pros

Benefits are worthwhile, time off is reasonable, and opportunities are endless if you know the right people.

    Cons

Management isn't supportive, their expectations far outweigh what they are willing to pay and the office politics is far beyond what is necessary in a hospital for cancer patients.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive. The people who do most of the work do know what is necessary to increase efficiency and if you want to succeed, I suggest you at least listen to feedback and give it some thought.

    Pros

Everyone works extremely hard; people will stay after hours to get their work done. Management is great and helpful (if not entirely present). There is ample growth opportunity so long as you work hard and get published

    Cons

Group collaboration in the office is in short supply. Machinery is often broken, which makes it difficult when an experiment needs to get done right away.

I think in some departments management can be hard to deal with. I would have loved a transfer.

    Pros

The office culture was great, flexibility in work hours, benefits and overall atmosphere were great. Facilities provided within the campus are great, and convenient location.

    Cons

Nothing really that I can think off the top of my head. The training videos were somewhat annoying, and not really relevant to my work itself.

    Pros

The pay is good and the hours are regular. My supervisor and co-workers are competent. The culture is to put patients first.

    Cons

Parking; high cost of parking in the medical center; lack of flexibility in hours worked; rigid work schedule.

    Advice to Management

Allow more flexibility in schedule where appropriate and practical.
