    Pros

    Cons

Management could be messy at times.

Put the correct people in mgt that would make the company look good. Encourage the mgt to encourage the team members more. This makes a better working environment for the clients as well as the team members

Former Employee - Human Resources Manager in Las Vegas, NV

I worked at MGM Grand Hotel full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There is a high volume of cases, that are interesting and more complex. You have the opportunity to learn a lot in a short amount of time here. The size of the company allows you to do some large scale projects that you can't do elsewhere.

    Cons

Compensation strategies for internal applicants is poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay internal talent competitively with the market - otherwise you risk continued high turnover of management positions, high recruitment costs & lose the benefits of internal knowledge.

    Pros

Fun environment, fun coworkers, free admission, company events, long breaks, pay above minimum wage, dependable hours

    Cons

Training is tedious, working during summer heat is exhausting, some rude customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Getting better

Current Employee - Casino Dealer in Las Vegas, NV

I have been working at MGM Grand Hotel full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The property was on a slow decline for many years, now they are finally renovating it and putting the work into improving the customer experience.

    Cons

This used to be the number one casino on the strip, now it's second rate. Many working conditions fall short of the top casinos - food in the EDR is low level, rest rooms are dirty, 401k match is low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask for ideas from the staff and give them recognition.

    Pros

After 5 years, you get 5 weeks of paid time off.
After 1 year, you get 4 weeks of paid time off.
    One free meal a day.
    Good medical/dental/vision insurance.

    Cons

Hard to move up. Wish the senior management would treat the employees the same way they treat themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My bosses of my department are amazing. I wish the rest of the management at MGM were the same.

I worked at MGM Grand Hotel

    Pros

The free food.... the pay is higher than most other employers. The benefits are a nice perk and better than you will find most other places in the area. The ability to recieve the discount in Vegas is a huge perk and the atmospher is also busy.

    Cons

The free food... scheduling is bad and there is a lot of slackers. Ensure your job is done, but don't count on others to help you out, they wont and worse yet, they get away with it. Management lacks the proper way to evaluate employees. Time is valued over anything, not productive work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the way the company values people, hard work before ethnic
