I have been working at MSCI

    Pros

The amount you learn about the investment process and the people you meet are tremendous. The firm will provide growth those strong enough to speak up.

    Cons

There are many challenges at MSCI and at times it seems too unstructured or understaffed. It is sometimes hard to get direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to employees to more and find ways to help them and inspire them to get involved in the company.

I have been working at MSCI

    Pros

It has a lot of talented energetic people and it is a great place to learn about the investment process.

    Cons

The career path is not clearly thought out so there is a lot of uncertainty and ambiguity when working for the company on a long term.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to create stable career paths for all positions and provide more international opportunities. Also some leadership programs would be useful.

I have been working at MSCI

    Pros

Excellent place to start your career; state-of-the-art technology, better than average in terms of professional approach. Self-starters would love this place who know what they want to get from a position.

    Cons

Too much movement went on in the previous periods, you probably have to go after projects. Communication is not satisfying paired with some past errors committed by senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Establish a system that attracts and retains talent. Hiring people and forgetting about them is not a way cutting edge technologies and leading organisations should be built.

I have been working at MSCI

    Pros

MSCI is a high growth, execution focused firm.
A very positive experience for those who can work hard and achieve something over time.
Collegues at MSCI are smart, hard working, motivated and talented individuals.

    Cons

Not a firm for those who want a free ride. You must prove yourself over time before you get recognition. I think this is not a "con" but it may be for certain people who do not fit this culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to find ways to empower middle management more. Continue to change, adapt in order to meet ambitious growth targets.

I have been working at MSCI

    Pros

Compensation, Work culture, People, Overall aptitude of the technical team

    Cons

Micro management, unwarranted prejudice shown by managers, little scope for growth and tendency to get into comfort zone

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You do a good job hiring capable people for the most part, give them some latitude. There is nothing wrong in acknowledging that the folks under you are better
