I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a 20% discount on top of coupons. The department I work in is great we are all relatively the same age and we work together as a team.

    Cons

With all the stuff I am required to do I'm getting paid minimum wage. The managers standards are ridiculously high. Macy's appeals to Walmart customers who are trying to get Saks 5th Ave. customer service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to understand what associates are going through. We cannot do ten things all at once. We're only one person.

I have been working at Macy's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The workers try hard to appease both the company and customers for little salary and most employees give their best

    Cons

company shows its mechanical side in pleasing employees and its caring side to customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employee is kept distant from management in that the rules and regulations are not geared to assist employee but place more burden on them for the low salary.

I worked at Macy's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very flexible scheduling through online system.

    Cons

Managers think they are better than everyone and do not respond when you need help with customers. The training is unhelpful. You rotate around the departments so often it is impossible to familiarize yourself with the merchandise and customers expect you to know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more training in different departments and be supportive of the sales associates who work for you.
