I have been working at Macy's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Attendance policy, co-workers, on site cafeteria, weekly pay

    Cons

No room for advancement unless you're just wanting a title change. Pay is just okay. Ask for input after they start losing people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let workers be self sufficient, offer better schedules and perks for tenured employees.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good place for making new friends and working with the public. Employee discount is a plus.

Some co-workers can be competitive, lazy and not willing to work as a team. A lot of staff turnover. Not a good place for advancement.

    Pros

    I Enjoyed the employee discount

    Cons

It was not fulfilling for me

I have been working at Macy's

    Pros

Employee discounts are really great. Have a great manager who helps me when I have scheduling conflicts and it feels like I work with a big family. Very diverse with people from various backgrounds.

    Cons

Only was able to have one day for paid time off so I relied mostly on my manager or calling out on day I couldn't come in. The emphasis on opening accounts was too much and performance based on customer satisfaction wasn't rewarded as great if accounts weren't being opened.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less focus on opening accounts and more on customer satisfaction

I have been working at Macy's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun environment with management trying to up employee moral
    Can shop with extra discounts
Make great friends and work with all kinds of people in the store

    Cons

They Expect a lot from a cashier you have to be the cleaning crew and the sales person and make sure no one is stealing and check fitting rooms and bring out more merchandise and make sure signing is correct.
Don't always get appreciation for hard work
LP will try to pin anything they can on associates to get them fired and no one cares when a manager is dating an associate and giving them special treatment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure managers don't date employees because they will give special treatment

I have been working at Macy's

    Pros

You get your feet wet in the job market. Flexible hours are almost guaranteed. You make a decent paycheck at the end of the week.

    Cons

No room for advancement. The customer is always right mentality. Guaranteed you must work on holidays. Favorites are often played.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to be leader, not a boss.
