I have been working at Madison Square Garden as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Sense of community in an exciting workplace. Many networking opportunities and chances to make friends with other Student Associates (interns)

    Cons

Pay is low but manageable. It is better than an unpaid internship. It is hard living in the city and only making 8.00 an hour less taxes but the experience is so hands on that it makes it all worth it

Incredible access to all things sports, media, and entertainment. The culture here, while serious, is friendly. It is a work environment that motivates me to do well!

I worked at Madison Square Garden as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

My boss(s) were excellent listeners and very interested in my progress and helped me gain internal efficiency.

    Cons

Just a huge organization with complexity to get things accomplished, ( too many cooks)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire your interns and temps. They want to work there and are already trained to "hit the ground running". Keep being kind to your subordinates. It is welcomed and makes one like coming to work there. Continue demanding productivity over weekends as you appreciate it. Your accounting team is excellent there.
