One of the most complex business organizations in the region, eroding away.

I worked at Magyar Telekom full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, great perks, lots to learn in central functions, room to grow and plenty of resources and opportunities to make things happen (if you're into it).
Depending on the branch and function you can also get some valuable international experience as well via Deutsche Telekom.

    Cons

Huge legacy systems, overly complicated & slow bureaucracy, committee decisions, siloes & infighting.
Comfort and complacency are prevalent; with huge external pressure on the business there is a lot of effort going into shaking up things internally, which causes anxiety in all tiers of management. This leads to bad decisions, mixed messages, hurried execution.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Refresh key functions with fresh talent or face obsolescence.

I have been working at Magyar Telekom

    Pros

Nice compensation package, even for junior employees. I was involved in a big IT development project, had the opportunity to learn a lot.

    Cons

Very hierarchical, not easy to get an idea approved. The culture doesn't foster individual ideas, one shuold do what he or she is said to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Middle management should pay attention to encourage creative thinking. The information flow within the organization is disapppointing, management should be more open towards colleagues.
