    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

A significant talent drought leads to opportunities for even the most mediocre talents.

    Cons

Very little and very unstable existing business. Management mantra seems to be self-belief will deliver results - this faith based vision is more apt for the 80s, not the modern business environment. Terrible investment decisions in inorganic plays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lose US management and invest in truly entrepreneurial business leaders.

    Pros

Pros – Opportunity to take on new positions (only for Indians)
If an employee (is an Indian) and project ends, they can be picked up by another account without being fired

    Cons

Cons – Management doesn't communicate well - huge veil of secrecy between India and US
Some unethical practices - particularly use of sleezy outsourced recruiters that will promise you anything and tell you anything to get you to sign on
Employee gets 'dropped' into positions without any mentoring or training
Peers and management favor others with Indian heritage and believe they're smarter than other cultures - baboons in suits
Management makes a lot of unrealistic promises to customers then expects front-line employees to figure it out on their own
Indian management throws other employees under bus to make themselves look good
Not a lot of teaming or collaboration to meet common goals - employees try to take credit for others contributions while going to great lengths to fingure out how to do as little as possible
Onsite employees outside of India are completely disconnected from the company - which is mainly in India
Training and events all held on IST timezone - no attempt to support other countries or timezones

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to Senior Management – If your serious about breaking into the US market then you need to ensure Indian employees who are customer facing in the US adapt their business practices to be consistent with American practices. Also need to treat employees that are non-Indian the same as Indian employees - at very least don't appear so blatantly racist.

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam

    Pros

If you are not career oriented and if you would like to stay at your designated level then this company is for you. The company will provide you a stable job and keep loading you with work. The company will treat you like a family and ensure that you are well protected from dangers of growth.

    Cons

salary revisions are megre and are purely to satisfy the obligation of appraisals, appreciations are far and few and promotions are but just a distant dream.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

you equate the company to a phoenix and mention how the company have risen from ashes. make sure that you renumerate, recognize and reward the people who have made this happen. also please ensure that you stop the sham appraisals.

    Pros

Work from home based office, and lots of travel in this consulting type of business.
    Good pay and bens.

    Cons

Company is under huge change and totally disorganized. Associates are either laid off or leaving. Little to no opportunity for growth or longterm employment if you are not Indian.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show respect to associates in a secure environment.

Good place to earn while you learn, don't expect to get paid for your talent!

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Mahindra Satyam

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn on the job since they hire people with roughly but not exact requirement as for the position. Everyone comes with irreverent experience and everyone learns on client projects! Some co workers are very supportive, managers tend to throw people under the bus. Training is decent not great, often given by other reluctant employees under stress from their managers.

    Cons

Projects are very hectic since delivery managers commit to clients to bring the moon.
Unsupportive to find projects for benched employees. Lot of politics to even get placed in projects, since delivery manager would rather keep you on bench without pay than transfer to another delivery manager with a urgent and relevant project.
Pay is bad, no hikes for anyone. Offshore are promised on-site roles which they never deliver on, promotions and bonus hardly happen and are given to those barnacles who stick around for many years on unspoken seniority not performance basis. On-site employees are paid bare minimum wage according to Labour laws and lose out "promotions and bonus" because offshore appraisals are frozen while on-site!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Where to start?? Managers are incompetent and poisonous. Constant feeling of left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing. Need to be proactive to retain all talent and reward satisfactorily, not negotiate bonus with the employees who threaten to quit.

Very horrible management which can't be mended as they are more like tenured govt employees who get paid for performance or non performance. Extremely callous and toxic attitude.
