From College Hire to Manager

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than 3 years

ProsManhattan Associates offers a very fast paced and challenging work environment. When appropriately leveraged, the on the job training offers broad visibility and quick advancement. When you capitalize on opportunities as they are given to you, they will continue to grow in responsibility, which directly correlates to advancement and recognition within the company.

ConsTruly self motivated and self driven individuals thrive at Manhattan Associates. Individuals without a clear personal drive struggle as the infrastructure for career guidance and coaching is weak. If you do not actively look for opportunities or advice, they can quickly pass you up or be missed all together.

Great place to build career, if you are single

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than 3 years

ProsHighly recommended for starters. Pay is okay, probably above average depends on experience. You will get to know many great, knowledgeable people in the field. Also get to work with many well-known companies. Also come with travel perks if that's what you like. Close working relationship with R&D team which is a lot more supportive than before. Business as a whole is going great and future looks good. A lot of upward opportunities because turn over is high in the mid-level.

ConsTerrible work-life balance at times. This is not just for young junior positions. Have seen many senior people also putting in ridiculously long hours doing front line work. Hard to do if you have family. Not sure if that this what I want to see myself going in 8-10 years.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't sign unrealistic contracts with clients. At the end it just hurt employee morals and does nothing good to the projects

Fast paced technology service provider, who makes software too.

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFriendly people, embedded in wide array of businesses, innovative products, wide range of age groups, and extremely diverse. Salaries are reasonable, benefits are pretty good.

ConsGreat starting point for a career, but career development is lacking unless you are willing to live on the road for a few years. Management turnover makes continuity a challenge. Salaries while decent are not the highest in this industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your people.

Great People, but if you are hired as a senior be prepared to be thrown to the wolves.

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than a year

ProsManhattan has a great office in Atlanta, but as a Consultant you dont spend much time there. The opportunity to travel is something I enjoyed but might not be for everyone.

ConsWork - Life Balance is a little skewed. Training was next to nothing, 2nd day on job I was at a client site.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive us a little more training!

Work hard, play hard culture.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than 3 years

ProsYou get to consult in a variety of industries. You also get to immediately see the results of your work.

ConsLong hours. Pay can be very off balance. Management has a "churn and burn" mentality when it comes to consultants.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your lower level consultants better and don't work so hard to burn them out.

Great Company with Great People

I worked at Manhattan Associates full-time for more than a year

ProsPeople are really fun. Projects are challenging. If you enjoy travelling and working with people to fix issues with software this is a good job for you.

ConsDidnt enjoy the travelling. Has issues with moving up the corporate ladder. Most of your time is spent working away from home which can be a burden on meeting friends

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow more time to be in Atlanta
