Current Employee – been working at Maple Leaf Foods
Pros – Excellent leadership culture. Focussed on building better leaders as a way to drive performance and shareholder value long term. Leadership at Maple Leaf is top down from Michael McCain providing a strong example for all employees. Relatively low degree of office politics, at least in the satellite offices. High degree of focus on career development and transparency of feedback.
Cons – Systems - Maple Leaf has terrible accounting and business systems. During the restructuring efforts currently going on there is a lot of inefficiency that occurs in the various project teams that frustrates other employees. Compensation structure should change to be brought in line with a more modern ranking system.
Advice to Senior Management – Find better business systems solutions and build structure accordingly.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
