I have been working at March of Dimes full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The best part of working for the March of Dimes is the mission which is truly inspiring.Other options, although salaries may not be as high as some organizations, there is flexibility that you do not have in other companies. Great vacation, personal and holidays - more than most offer.

    Cons

Challanges being there isn't much room for advancement. Praise for a job well done is not often given.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give praise from the top. Executive directors are encouraging but not necessarily any higher up than that.

I have been working at March of Dimes

    Pros

Everybody is very friendly and accepting, you will feel at home on your first day. Leadership in my chapter is great. My bosses are always willing to set time aside to help or just listen to what you have going on.

    Cons

Unfortunately, my chapter is woefully understaffed so everybody does a little bit of everything extra to make up for it, which means more hours.

    Cares about its employees.
Flexible work environment and great employee perks.
Wonderful volunteers and great board members.

    Cons

I worked at March of Dimes full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great support from management. Great teamwork among staff and volunteers. And the mission of helping educate and raise money for healthier babies is kept front and center.

    Cons

Lots of extra hours to help support the kind of teamwork that is provided. But if you know that and have extra time, it is not necessarily a con.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an eye on the worker burn out. It is a job that requires dedication to a mission. Management has great training and work support, good days off. Follow up to make sure employees use them.
