    Pros

    Good team, and active work.

    Cons

Low paid work, pays only half of what you work, poor priorities from the supervisors, not enough tools to perform a better job, the standards are not well established.

    Pros

The regular customers are great! Pleasant, and I love learning about their work and meeting new people. Better money than retail.

    Cons

Management no longer gives you the freedom to make adjustments to give customers the best experience possible. This means you get roasted when a client is unhappy--from the client, and then from your boss. I have heard from the part-time employees that hours have been cut and inconsistent. As a small company, there's almost no room for growth (Plamondon).

    Advice to Management

Enable your employees to make customers happy--even if that means expensing out a free coffee or offering a discount occasionally. It is your employees that take the heat when a client is displeased. Also, you should support your staff and be on "their team". The customer is NOT always right, although we can make it right, a customers complaint does not mean your staff did anything wrong according to what YOU have told them to do.

    Pros

employee discounted rooms as cheap as 19.95 ...especially during the Christmas and new year-holiday...

    Cons

Pay is very low and there is very little room to grow,,The environment is very much based on who likes you not based on talent or ability

    Advice to Management

more training for management should be mandatory and better pay for employees to intrest people.

    Pros

A friendly environment. The staff at the location i worked with was very much like a family.

    Cons

A lot of work for very few people. Although the work was very demanding the pay was considerably low. Worked as a "houseman" and was given several tasks that I was solely responsible for which I believe weren't fairly distributed for such a salary (10/hr) that offered minimum benefits. Many of these tasks seemed unreasonable(ie. Spending hours shopping for personal groceries for guests ). This was my constant battle throughout my employment with them. Glad to have moved on.

    Advice to Management

Hire more service employees, more consideration or more pay

  6. If you get an opportunity that pays the same elsewhere, take the offer NOT at Marriott.

    Pros

    - paid weekly
    - looks good on resumes

    Cons

    - people that have worked here for a long time are generally pretty lazy, very complacent
    - I do not get full-time hours regardless of being a full-time employee
    - my location pays less for the same job than surrounding locations (even though it is full service)
    - HR department typically does not do anything when you go to them, they just say "go to your manager"

    Advice to Management

Management really needs to buckle down on lazy employees. Work ethic is a problem and needs to be addressed, the longer the employees have been here the less likely they will be disciplined as well.

    Pros

Great starting place fr someone who doesnt have work experience
    Wonderful discounts on Marriott hotels

    Cons

Do not expect to be paid above minimum wage even if you are worked like a race horse.
    No management to employee support
Strange hours. They like to have you work 25 hours but will spread it across the week instead of condensing it appropriately which affects work-life balance
    High turn over with employees
    No lunch breaks
    No in house food discounts
No attention from management unless it's Q&A season and the attention an employee does get is usually bad
    No empathy for employees
Employees had to train themselves without any help but is expected to pass Q&A with jobs on the line
Don't expect to move up in the company, you will remain stagnated

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees better
    Offer your employees actual breaks
    Get rid of your slackers
Better communication skills between Management and their employees

    Pros

The friendships along the way. How to deal with different types of personalities from all parts of the world.

    Cons

Managers do not lookout for your best interest or see what your strengths are within the company. Scheduling was absolutely terrible (when were short staffed totally understandable, but this wasn't the case). Don't work for a franchise.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the associates who work overtime so you don't have to be there.
