I have been working at Marriott

    Pros

Very positive and friendly workplace, management very open and willing to talk with and listen to employees, core values of service lived out fully here, focused on developing talent and providing opportunities within organization, very flexible in scheduling, benefits package outstanding

    Cons

Hotel is run very well but restaurant is overseen by people either without a restaurant background or with minimal experience, PM restaurant employees work without supervision which means employees left to own devices in dealing any potential conflict, little regulation of employee behavior and quality of work, feedback/critiques for back of house are generally invalid due to lack of any oversight, hearsay relied on far too much by management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Oversee all employees equally, make an effort at upholding work standards, don't focus only on "squeaky wheels"

Former Employee - Duty Manager in Surabaya, East Java (Indonesia)

I worked at Marriott full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Marriott International is a very big and famous Hotel Chain around the world. Having a good standard and big pipeline which can make us growing all of us around the world with the same chance for every Associates.

    Cons

The challenges almost nothing, however since quite a lot people working for so many years due to the comfortable things makes the rotation and development quite hard for some talent within same property. But, it doesn't matter for those who are willing to mobile due to a lot of opportunity among Marriott Company
