I have been working at Marsh
Pros – Great minds, great clients to work with and learn from, access to resources is great, global company and reach for learning and more, great sister companies and global brand.
Industry practices are full of information and you can access a resource pretty easily.
Cons – Do more with less - this is common in most large corporations.
Ask for feedback. Sometimes it is not given.
Set expectations with management.
Very traditional management in many respects, and heads are sometimes bigger than the doorway - important to learn how to work with some people
Advice to Senior Management – Management can be more effective in reducing the number of broadcasts and targeting them to the right people. They should increase some broadcasts and increase their level of communication about important changes in the company. Also, take the time to listen to your people and work with them to develop a career path - this is lost.

I have been working at Marsh
Pros – If you are well-liked, you will do well at this company. Bit of an "old boys club" mentality sometimes which can be a bit tiring, but progress is definitely being made away from this.
Cons – fairly competitive environment, which can be very motivating, but you tend to have colleagues who are only looking out for their best interest, so there is a lack of information sharing sometimes. Also, you must be self-motivated to work here as direct supervison is not found - on that same note, micro-managers need not apply!
Advice to Senior Management – I think that diversity and progression are already on your radar as important issues to develop - keep up the good work!
